ChronoZoom Project Information - 1 views

  • Because the field of Big History studies all 13.7 billion years from the Big Bang to the present, a tool to aid the comprehension of time relationships between events, trends and themes is necessary. ChronoZoom is an intuitive, visual approach to fulfilling this void.

Very comprehensive video about Diigo! This is a great "Diigo Rewind" for our Week 5 activity. You will likely pick up on something about using Diigo that you missed the first time around. Thanks for adding this to our group, Mary.

How the Common Core Standards Tackle Problem Solving | Edutopia - 0 views

Former administrator Ben Johnson writes in this blog that the Common Core State Standards focus on literacy will benefit students' problem solving. Johnson offers a real-life example in which he fixed a broken lawnmower by using what was believed to be useless junk stored in his garage. The junk -- like information stored in the brain -- was necessary to find the solution, or resolve the problem.

This site looks like a very good resource for helping teachers bring project-based learning to their classrooms. I've heard one of the facilitators of the site speak at a conference, Dayna Laur, and she is very dynamic. The "Pick a Project" page gives you ideas while the "Click a Class" page will help you build and customize a project for your classroom. Watch the 1 minute video on the "How it Works" page to learn more.
