It's so hard to have a solid opinion on this. There are many pros and cons. However, this isn't a law that puts guns in the hands of teachers: it's still up to each school whether they want to be part of it, and then they have to go through the local associations and the teachers must be trained. I also didn't know that so many of schools already allow/don't restrict teachers from carrying firearms "It is unclear how many school districts nationwide have teachers carrying guns. Hawaii and New Hampshire do not have any prohibition against carrying weapons on school property for those with concealed carry permits. Texas's law against carrying weapons in school includes an exemption for people whom the school authorizes."
So do you guys think this is really a radical law? Will it take hold in other states?

As mentioned above, the article definitely says something about the academic pressure students find themselves under. For me what fascinates me most is not the act of rampant cheating but rather how many students feel compelled to cheat. I know when I self grade things (My french teacher has us grade our own quizzes sometimes) I'm really tempted to give myself a better grade. But I feel too bad and he looks over them afterwards though, so I've never followed up. But I know cheating doesn't help me, and those that cheat often feel the same-yet why are we still tempted to?
Also, I wish this article had some concrete statistics. (Would that have been possible?) I can't really get a grasp of how much of a problem this is actually.

The Tam News was successful in getting news out, but when I first read it I didn't learn anything, it didn't give me any insight on why it was closing. I was already following Team closing via the facebook group and crazed friends- so the information on the article was all information I was aware of. We got the story out to the general Tam community, which is admirable. But I wonder if it's more important to write a more matured piece about an issue or let the public know about big issues right off the bat?
Personally, I wanted more answers and I feel the Redwood article offers that. But does that outweigh covering breaking news as it happens? The Tam News continued to follow up on the original article in a timely manner.
