Israeli SodaStream to Close Illegal Settlement Factory after Shares drop 50% | nsnbc in... - 0 views

  • The Israeli SodaStream is closing down its factory in the illegal Mishor Adumin settlement in Palestine’s West Bank. The decision to close the factory came after intense international pressure as part of the growing international Boycott – Divestment – Sanctions campaign against Israel.
  • The Executive Director of the Palestinian Center for Rapprochement between People, Geoerge Rishmawi, reported that the major Israeli exporter SodaStream announced that it will close its factory in the illegal Israeli settlement Mishor Adumin. Rishmawi points out that the decision to close down the factory followed a high-profile boycott campaign against the company that has seen retailers across Europe and North America drop SodaStream products and the company’s share price fall by more than half. The International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) reports that the international Boycott – Divestment and Sanctions Campaign (BDS) issued a statement on its website, stressing that the campaign must continue because SodaStream has yet to close the factory, and because the company is to benefit from Israel’s forcible displacement of Palestinians in Naqab.
