March 18, 2009 Cloud Competition is Great for Startups - Continuations Image by .dan via Flickr Found link to this post on Found Wilson's Blog-Cloud computing is Internet ("cloud") based development and use of computer technology ("computing").[1][2][3] It is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualised resources are provided as a service over the Internet.[4][5][6][7] Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing  Naomi and I are planning to buy a Netbook and The Cloud may clinch the deal- The other day a netbook user mentioned a free app FotoFlexer it works beautifully for basic photo retouching -and is used from a browser-Any thing that I don't have to download is fine with me-It is no secret that I use Glue from Adaptive Blue -a few month's ago their tech support Genie [Frazer Kelton] lead me to a link that I use to post books on my Amazon Account -It has given me the ability to post all my new and old read's on Glue and Tweet them-Netbooks and Cloud Computing on the Rise Cloud Competition is Great for Startups - Continuations. http://soa.sys-con.com/node/792134/mobile Related articles by Zema

Welcoming Justin Levy to the Pirate Ship | chrisbrogan.com tabbloid_2008-12-20_0900-1 Yacht mainsail Image via Wikipedia Sail Free Lads they never will catch your Pirate Ship- Sailing is the art of controlling a sailing vessel. By changing the rigging, rudder and dagger or centre board, a sailor manages the force of the wind on the sails in order to change the direction and speed of a boat. Mastery of the skill requires experience in varying wind and sea conditions, as well as knowledge concerning sailboats. The "rules of the road" for ships and boats declare that when the courses of two sailing vessels converge, the vessel on port tack must give way to a vessel on starboard tack . For this purpose, port and starboard tack include any position with the wind to that side, whether moving upwind or downwind. If a vessel is fore-and-aft-rigged, the actual wind position is overridden by the position of the boom (the mainsail boom in a vessel with multiple masts), which is assumed to be on the side opposite the wind, even if the vessel is running straight downwind or is in the act of tacking; that is, if the boom is to port the vessel is on starboard tack, and vice versa. There are exceptions to the requirement to give way: in particular, if the vessel on port tack does not have sea-room to tack or maneuver out of the way. Ned Sublette I was on Gotham Gal's website this morning using th LIJIT Search Engine http://gothamgal.blogs.com/ I wanted to re read a book by one of my favorite authors and he is also a great musician ! Yes I found it! Viva Ritmo Latino Cuba and Its Music: From the First Drums to the Mambo by Ned Sublette "This entertaining history of Cuba and its music begins with the collision of Spain and Africa and continues through the era of Miguelito Valdés, Arsenio Rodríguez, Benny Moré, and Pérez Prado. It offers a behind-the-scenes examination of music from a Cuban point of view, unearthing surprising, provocative connections and making a case for Cuba as fundamental to the evolution of music in the New World. Revealed are how the music of black slaves transformed 16th-century Europe, how the claves appeared, and how Cuban music influenced ragtime, jazz, and rhythm and blues. Music lovers will follow this journey from Andalucía, the Congo, the Calabar, Dahomey, and Yorubaland via Cuba to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saint-Domingue, New Orleans, New York, and Miami. The music is placed in a historical context that considers the complexities of the slave trade; Cuba's relationship to the United States; its revolutionary political traditions; the music of Santería, Palo, Abakuá, Vodú, and much more. Cuba and its Music is an ambitious project whose repercussions in a different genre might be on a par with those of Buena Vista. Grounded on frequent trips to the island and an extensive bibliography, this book by Ned Sublette is a first for an English-reading public: a didactic and accessible steer through part of Cuba's turbulent history and its music, whose parameters embrace cultural anthropology, sociology, politics, and history, as well as musicology and music. I also get a lot of great Latin Music from NPR http://www.ritmolatino.org/ Lijit is great search engine with excellent Tech Support it is great add for any web site http://www.lijit.com/about N

Likaholix - About - 1 views

It takes very bright people to use the principals of semantics, general semantics, and mathematics and create a Likaholix- I am sure that this site will be the best of 2009 since it has more to offer than most in the social media and micro-blogging category- First and foremost is has ease of use and guides you ,to add what you like to very well chosen categories  without wandering through useless applications and semantic jazz-I found Louis Gray Steve Rubel and Andrew Badera on the site it will be interesting  to see what they contribute-Current people on the site are really adding great data food gadgets books and more-It has a very simple bookmarking tool for Fire Fox and inside are great search applications which when you enter a URL, it gives you interesting suggestions as to media to add.* Note this is a review as a user not a paid plug- As a User I can plug what I LIKE and add it to Likaholix!
