Despite starting conservatively with my personal Google+ use, I've had quite a few people ask me what I thought of G+ and when we'd write a post about it here on TopRank's Online Marketing Blog.  With all the hype and past track record with Google's social media tests, I decided to wait.  I've been a bit more active on Google+ as of late and strangely enough, nearly 6,000 people have decided this was worth a Circle inclusion. For those who prefer using feed readers to streamline their online consumption, you can now follow individual Google+ user streams via RSS feeds using a webapp called, simply, Google Plus Feed.

Google Plus or Google+ or G+ has now been out and about for roughly a week, and I was fortunate enough to get to play with it quite early on. I know that lots of people haven't as yet, so this is an overview post so that when you DO, you'll have some idea of what you're looking at.

One of the effects of Google+'s controlled roll out, primarily to tech geeks and Social Media nerds, was an avalanche of "Google+ will be a (fill in the blank) killer" posts.  Twitter - dead! Facebook - dead! Twitter and Facebook - dead! I've tried to hold off on such pronouncements because, A) that's the easy way out, and B) nobody knows what effects exactly Google+ is going to have on the online media habits of millions of people.
