Deborah Cohn earned her law degree from George Mason School of Law in 1982, and was hired by the United States Patent and Trademark Office as an examining attorney a few months later. She became its Commissioner for Trademarks at the end of 2010, and oversaw all aspects of the USPTO's Trademarks organization.
