Silicone and PTFE fabrics have excellent chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, moisture resistance and heat resistance. Silicone is a rubber-like abrasion-resistant coating that is gray or red in color. Silicone fabrics have better UV resistance, water resistance and abrasion resistance than PTFE fabrics. PTFE fabrics is a smooth, non-reactive coating commonly known as Teflon®. PEFE fabrics are ideal for applications requiring increased toughness and chemical resistance. Silicone fabrics can withstand operating temperatures of 500°F (260°C) and PTFE fabrics can withstand operating temperatures of 680°F (360°C).
