The WebSEM is a scanning electron microscope (SEM) connected to the Internet allowing educators from around the world to log-in and use the microscope live in their classroom. The students can control the magnification, move and focus the specimen, and collect elemental data to determine the composition of the specimen. When desired, images can be saved to the classroom computer for further viewing. This is a free service to all educators and available worldwide.
