Matt Damon's clear-headed speech to teachers rally - The Answer Sheet - The Washington ... - 0 views

This is not related to AT. However, it is a wonderful, to the point speech given by Matt Damon at the Save Our Schools march in Washington, D.C., supporting teachers and speaking out against standardized tests.

QR Codes - Uses and Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities - 0 views

  •
This blog post showed up in my Google Reader. It is about QR codes, the ones that you can get an app for your phone and scan bar codes and it will give you information. I have only thought of this being used with food at the grocery store and it never occurred to me that they could be used as Assistive Technology!

This blog was tweeted to me when I asked about what AT teachers are using in their math classes. This pen sounds like a really good idea for all students.

Tap It - 2 views

This is a resource I was given on Classroom 2.0 and found it very interesting!

I checked this thing out and it seems pretty cool but I was thinking, can't an Ipad do all the same stuff but be significantly cheaper?
  •
I haven't actually played around with an Ipad before, so I'm not sure of it's capabilities. One thing I found interesting about the Tap It, that the Ipad probably couldn't offer is that if a child leans on the screen with their hand or arm, the screen recognizes it as a lean, and it only recognizes the tap. I would like to compare the Ipad and the Tap It though.
  •
This does look similar to an Ipad, but it does seem that this may be more helpful for a student because of the size of the screen.
