Joining us today are Clayton M. Christensen and Michael B. Horn, authors of Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns. In the book, the authors predict that within a decade, half of all courses at the high school level will be delivered online and they argue that each student needs a customized learning approach to maximize his or her potential.

"The Concord Consortium undertakes innovative projects that bridge the gap between research and practice. Some projects are at the level of nuts-and-bolts technology, while others focus on learners. In all cases our projects strive to create new structures for learning and are strategically placed to achieve important long-term goals."

David Hargreaves argues in this report that the education system will be transformed only when small-scale improvements and school-based innovations are shared between schools and teachers without direct interference of central government.
