We hear a lot about the 21st Century learner - But what about the 21st Century Teacher? What are the characteristics we would expect to see in a 21st Century Educator? Well, we know they are student centric, holistic, they are teaching about how to learn as much as teaching about the subject area. We know too, that they must be 21st Century learners as well. But highly effective teachers in today's classrooms are more than this - much more.

When assessment drives instruction, students learn more and become more confident, self-directed learners. The purpose of this course is to provide "Just in Time" training through an online interface for K-12 educators based on the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T). These standards are the basic technology skills every educator should possess. In the process, educators will develop their own skills and discover what students need in order to meet the NETS for Students, as well as the new MMC Online Experience requirement. Are your students collecting RSS feeds in Google Reader, bookmarking sites as a group in Delicious, blogging, interviewing content area experts they found through Google Scholar, and teaching the section of the course for which they are responsible?
