Okay, I get it. Many of you were not of the "Genesis does" crowd like I was as a kid. That doesn't mean I do not appreciate the Super Nintendo. I have both systems, I was a little late to the game that's all. As a kid I had the pleasure of bargain shopping for the SNES at the end of its run, plus all the trades I managed to do in school combined for me playing literally hundreds of games for the system. With my massive knowledge of this system I thought to do a follow up to my other Top 25 games list by choosing its main rival. Why 25? Well its only fair that I keep the number the same from my previous list that's all.

If you've played all the blockbuster games on the Game Boy already and need to dig into the lesser-known-but-equally-exciting games, this is the guide for you.   I know a lot of people have been waiting a while for this guide, but we wanted to take the time to find some real gems for you.  I've had many discussions with many experienced Game Boy fans in order to determine a list of all the best Gameboy  games that most people haven't played (or possibly even heard of). Much like previous entries in the Hidden Gems series, this guide is divided up by genre to help you find games that suit your tastes.

The fighting game genre has spawned many classics- I know that for myself and many other gamers, some of our earliest or fondest arcade memories are set to countless games of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. I begged my mom for a video game console after playing Mortal Kombat in the arcade, and probably wouldn't have ever ended up a gamer at all if not for those (at the time) wonderful graphics and enthralling shouts of "Finish him!". Here, in no particular order, are five classic fighters that this reviewer thinks stand at the top of the heap.

Video games have made incredible strides over the past decade. Improvements were made in game play, controls, story telling, graphics, and of course multiplayer modes. While the Internet has changed video games, mostly for the better, the big three home consoles, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and X Box 360 offer some horsepower for video gamers of all ages. The two biggest handhelds on the market namely the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS offer convenience and portability as well as power that easily equals last generations home consoles. But video games are not strictly a console-based commodity any more. The home computer has seen its share of video games as well, and just might be the gaming machine of the future. While looking ahead is fine and necessary, taking a step back to grade the top ten video games of the decade is difficult for many gamers. Of course, the decade was driven by many franchises; so many franchise games make appearances on the top ten video games of the decade.

For video game purists, more advanced technology does not necessarily mean a better game or a better gaming experience. Sometimes, the older games are still the best. The reason so many new games fail is because they lose sight of what a video game should be. Realistic 3D graphics are great, but if there is no decent story to back them up, if game play is too convoluted, or if failing one task sets you back 3 screens and 30 minutes, we won't want to play and we won't recommend the game to our friends. When we are looking for a video game, for the most part, what we want more than graphics is fun. It is, at heart, a game, right? With that in mind, here is a list of games that got it right.

I remember my first video game experience - camped out in front of my best friend's Nintendo playing Megaman 3 while he played. It was something that absolutely dazzled my mind, and several years later for Christmas, my parents bought my brother and me a Nintendo 64 - complete with Mario 64. The experience of a long-time gamer was just getting started, and as the years passed by I collected a plethora of games that were kept on my shelf as my 'favorites'. They range through age, system, and even rating. However, if you're a girl looking for a game, or you know a girl who may be looking for a game, I have compiled my favorite games from mostly the Adventure and Role Playing Game (RPG) Genre.

These days Nintendo has gamers flailing their arms around to the amusement of onlookers with the runaway success of the Wii. However before that Nintendo had it rough for a while. The Gamecube was completely leveled by the PS2 and original XBox and before the N64 backed the wrong horse by opting for cartridge games over the PS1 and its CD-ROM style games (which could hold much more information.) However before their downturn Nintendo ruled the landscape with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES.) Many still consider this the heyday of Nintendo games. With that in mind here's a look at the best this now retro system had to offer. This list isn't ranked due to its genre spanning nature.

In celebration to the 20th Anniversary of the release of Famico (known as NES in North America) in Japan, Nintendo released a line of Famico games emulated on the Game Boy Advance. Less than half of the titles managed to travel overseas for a domestic U.S. release. They were known as the Classic NES titles. Keep in mind the NES was the console where many of the most recognizable video game franchises started. It is the virtual who-who's of the gaming industry. Here are the top five Classic NES titles for the Gameboy Advance.

Dreamcast is hailed by video game players as the machine that could have been great, but thanks to the mass popularity of Sony and its push for more advanced hardware (in some ways) Dreamcast was killed coming out of the gates; doomed to suck the smoke of the Playstation 2 and X-box. The machine itself was impressive though and brought console gamers on to the Internet before Internet gaming with consoles was even the big thing. I owned a Dreamcast and thought it was awesome, though my game collection was not a list of titles hailed by purist. However, I can still name my top five games, regardless of the mass opinion on any of these, they brought me a lot of fun for a long time.

Wonder Boy, Adventure Island, Wonder Boy, Adventure Island.   Whichever one you choose, you are in for a fantastic time.  Two games that are so strikingly similar it is scary.  What is the cause for this duality of gaming?  Why do skateboards come out of eggs?  And where is that guys shirt?  More, and the weather, at 5.

For many of you reading this site, the arcade may well be the primary reason you got into videogames in the first place. That's certainly how it was for me back in 1980 and '81 when the sights and sounds of Pac-Man, Galaxian and Donkey Kong were hard wired into my brain.

The first time I ever heard of the PC Engine was when a friend whose Chinese mate's uncle had imported one told me about it. Without having seen it, I just assumed it was some kind of Japanese computer for word processing's sake - not a console the size of a good sarnie, and certainly not one that ran cutting-edge games stored on credit cards. Any which way you sliced it, the PC Engine was something special. From five-player games and the eight-way d-pad sported by its controller to what was at the time easily the best console version of R-Type, NEC's machine was a little marvel. Shame, then, that hardly anybody in the UK had one (though, for some reason, everyone in France did).

The enhanced graphics adapter (that's what EGA stands for) was a huge step ahead from CGA. For a short while, the PC had the pole position as far as graphics were concerned. EGA supported 16 colors out of a palette of 64 at a resolution of 640×350, or the standard 16 colors (the ones accessible in text mode) at 320×200 or 640×200.

It's been two years since we last visited this topic, which is just about enough time for the controversy over our previous selections to have just about died down. Since that last list was created, we've had some changes on the PC staff. First, Dan set sail for the Grey Havens so we asked Jason to come over from that other site. Then Charles revealed his treachery by moving to work on the 360 site so we rescued Jeff Haynes from the PS3 team and reacquainted him with the goodness that is PC gaming.

Most people probably grew up with console games; depending on your age, anywhere from the Nintendo 64 all the way back to the Atari 2600 and before. But some of us also started out in the pre-Windows world of PC gaming: a land of conventional memory, ZMODEM downloads, IRQ conflicts, and other things we don't miss. But we do miss the games, because when consoles were still maturing, the PC platform had some of the best and most entertaining games ever written. And for those of you who never played games in the pre-3D world: yes, DOS also stands for Disk Operating System. Yes, it's that thing you get when you type "cmd" into the Run bar, and yes, the whole computer used to look like that. Can you believe it?

The ZX Spectrum can boast some 15 thousand titles, which is about ten times more than what is currently available for either GBA or NDS alone. This is quite a lot of games to choose from. To put it into perspective, if you try out one title each day, it will keep you occupied for more than forty years. So, where do you start?

In an industry where an obese plumber can become a cultural icon, it's no wonder that in video games, weird is normal. However nutty they get, these oddities were never as strange as the ones for the Atari 2600. Ironically the most bizarre of these came out around the crash of the video game industry, causing most of them to go unnoticed in the rubble of a once great gaming console. As gamers we tend to remember, or at least know, our roots. Game consoles have come a long way,but you just can not forget the old systems that helped pave the way for todays more extensive, graphic oriented video games. The Atari was loads of fun and still is in our house. These are my top 10 picks for Atari games.
