Links to reputable sites useful for all levels of education. There are just so many links here (try under curriculum or resources) and the websites are also given annotations which help to determine their suitability. This is Gold!

Ergo is a site containing a great deal of information about Victorian history, including digitised primary resources. It also has tips on research skills and essay writing.

Seems obvious but I find this an easy to use research tool for a variety of ages.

Gooru is a new service (still carrying the Alpha label) that aims to provide teachers and students with an extensive collection of videos, interactive displays, documents, diagrams, and quizzes for learning about topics in math and science.

A great Search Engine site, but with more features such as a Library of resource organised by subject area. Unfortunately very U.S. based, but for some subjects that wouldn't matter.

This YouTube channel has an abundant choice of resources for the VCE student. It was established by a young man who felt there was a need to provide current and relevant information about research skills, study techniques, a guide to write the perfect English essay and especially how to fine tune a search using Google. Each topic is delivered in easy speak and lasts for less than four minutes. I would highly recommend this site for students who are looking for quick sound bytes on surviving VCE.

A free online encyclopedia about the Earth, its natural enviornments and interaction with society. Whilst the intended audience is the general public the content is suitable for teachers and students. There are links to other resources.

The Khan Academy has approximately 3,500 videos all free to use. Fabulous for Science and Mathematics with some other subjects catered for as well.

The Khan Academy has generated a lot of discussion in education. The academy supplies a wealth of resources However... do these resources contribute to good teaching and learning?

A website with a focus on innovation, expert analysis and advice. Also produces a comprehensive cross-curricular program designed to assist students in developing a critical understanding of the world through the news media.

This is a really handy website which I use both personally and professionally. I am really keen on the idea of using fiction to help teach history. I think reading historical fiction helps bring history 'alive' and stimulates an interest in finding out more. Even if the book is not 100% correct it doesn't matter as discovering this is part of the learning process and encourages critical thinking.
