Maximizing the ROI on Your Super Bowl Spot - Advertising Age - Digital - 0 views

  • is such an unusual magnet for consumer attention and recall that it is worth every penny.
  • Consumers want to see the ads; they're akin to entertainment.
  • In my six years of monitoring game spots, there's been no question that brands that "prime the pump" around their Super Bowl spots get far bigger buzz dividends than brands that don't.
  •
On the surface this doesn't seem like social media. But the more we integrate with traditional media, in this case advertising, the more powerful both could become. Kinda like when Darth Vader struck down Obi Wan Kenobi.

Social Media FAQ #1: What if they leave negative comments on my site/blog/forum? - 0 views

  • Well the truth of the matter is, they are going to leave negative comments about your company elsewhere on the web, there’s no way you’ll ever be able to stop this.
  • Being on home court gives you the ability to quickly find out issues, so why wait for them to bubble up elsewhere on the web, consider this a ‘free alerting system’ –embrace!
  • these are individuals that want you to improve your product, so embrace them,

  • acknowledging a problem to someone who complains is often the most important thing
  • It is also a way to identify those who care enough about the company to leave a comment and dialogue with these through other channels e.g. a phone call, an email, etc.

Ning Blog - What is a Platform? - 0 views

  • It’s the software equivalent of Home Depot.
  • We wanted people to have the opportunity to create their own social networks and to make them whatever and whomever they wanted them to be. As a result, it didn’t make sense to build anything less than a platform.
  • MySpace is not a platform. MySpace doesn’t let you program it. MySpace doesn’t give you APIs.
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • When you create a social network on Ning, you can change every aspect of it all the way down to the code. In other words, it's programmable.
