Social Networking Safety for Parents | Internet Safety Project - 0 views

  • I composed a list of some general Social Networking Sites that children often flock to from my experience (you probably heard of them already): • Facebook (minimum age requirement: 13) • Twitter (minimum age requirement: None) • Google+ (minimum age requirement: 18) • MySpace (minimum age requirement: 13) • YouTube (minimum age requirement: 13)
  •
A bit outdated but good overview of social media safety tips for parents (but applicable to teachers too). Also outlines age minimums for accounts on the most popular site (Facebook=13, Twitter=none, etc)

The best apps for special needs kids - The Washington Post - 1 views

  •
Joan L. Green, a speech-language pathologist in Potomac and the author of "The Ultimate Guide to Assistive Technology in Special Education," shares some of her favorite iPad apps for kids with special needs. These are the most expensive versions of the apps because they have the most options for individualizing them to a child's particular needs. In some cases, there are less expensive versions. These apps cost far more than most, but they are cheaper than traditional communication systems and equipment that parents of kids with special needs may have bought in the past.

Ipadschools - home - 1 views

  •
A clearinghouse of applications, lessons and experiences using the iPad in the classroom. The intention is that all apps listed have been tested and recommended by teachers using them. Great resource for educational use of the iPad. Geared toward the classroom but still a great resource for anyone with an iPad and kids.
