How Do You Design a Hospital That Can Foster Great Ideas? | Wired Design | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
Since it opened in the spring of 2012, the vascular institute, designed by Cannon Design, has become a one-stop shop for research, medical innovations and patient treatment thanks in no small part to its emphasis on integrated, stacked design. The hope is two-fold: Improve patient care and reduce the time it takes for medical discoveries to go from bench to bedside, a jargon-y medical world phrase that describes the process of applying laboratory-based research to treating patients.

3D printing is as bad for your lungs as using a stove - Tech News and Analysis - 0 views

"rial 3D printers have systems in place to remove emissions. It would be nice to see UFP-capturing systems integrated into consumer printers as well. The researchers said they were not able to determine the composition of the particles and suggested further study, which could help inform new 3D printer designs or even new types of UFP-free plastic. For now, they recommend using 3D printers in a well ven"

A $250 3-D Printer With Breakthrough Software | Design | WIRED - 0 views

  •
d, that may be the true obstacle keeping us from seeing a 3-D printer in every home. From those very first Model T's that rolled off the production line in 1908, people knew what cars could do. That utility isn't nearly as obvious for today's consumer 3-D printers. At this point, for most, the technology
