I am involved with the 2009 Unconference in Second Life for Educators on 25-27 September (http://www.jokaydia.com). If you are interested in attending let me know. It would be great to have an informal meeting of the PBL-ers and discuss some of the ideas and methods that you've all been adding over the last year or so.

    Thanks!

I shall be there, somewhat 24/7 the way its looking - want to talk to anyone and everyone involved with integrating Web2.0 as a whole year group/school level. Or any PBLers interested in virtual worlds as part of projects.

Look forward to saying Hi Suzie!

    G'day from Sydney

! am proposing a Flash Meeting for all Diigo PBL group followers on Thursday 22nd May 2008, at 8.50 AM AEST (Sydney) time. Duration 1 hour.

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to work out your local time. I am hoping this is do-able for our US friends. We can discuss future 'best times' at the meeting.

I see this an un conference format, with out first meeting to connect some of the names to people.

Please post if you will/wont/might make this - there is a limit of 25 people in the room. If there is more than that - then we might look at an alternate platform.

Be great to expend this group into a wider learning network.

Just wondering ... though I imagine a lot of your are (as you know about Diigo) ... but how much of PBL being done out there is '21st Century Learning' in terms of Flat Classroom/Web2.0 learning strategies.

I am trying to guage how much 'general ICT' is being used vs Flat Classroom. Would love to see what ppl are up to!

What are you doing in the classroom to add value to the 'digital native' students? - What do you need to learn about to be more effective in the classroom? What is confusing you? This thread is to provide teachers with professional development help in key areas. Just post up what you would like to do in your classroom (even if you're not sure of the 'buzz' word), and hopefully, someone will help you out with advice and support.

I have a list of tools on http://deangroom.wordpress.com and Judy has a list (probably a little newer) on http://heyjude.wordpress.com. Yes you can build it here. I suggest that when someone finds a tool, or wants to post one, we tag it with 'pbltool', that way we can search by the tag in the bookmarks. You could also start a topic.

In Google's latest TOS, they in fact say that 18 is the minimum age for all Google Services!

I suggest that you look at http://www.zoho.com - which allows you to do similar things. Google docs used to be called Writely if I remember correctly, before Google bought it.

I can arrange @school workshop, no problem next term. Make it an agenda item and it will happen Shane.

I can also arrange one using Flash Meeting for an online audio/chat/video hook up - or arrange a meeting in Second Life @ Jokadia Island and get some of the Edu Residents to help out. That way we can make something happen in everyones timezone. (http://www.jokaydia.com). People would need to have a Second Life Account to use it of course. To me it's the best informal networking tool I use these days.

If you want to Skype me Wesley, my ID is dean_groom - we could conference that too!

Having an Edu Social Network is awesome - as you can tune it to your needs and interests. But if you are not sure what one is, how to get the most from it etc., then I'm happy to try and facilitate for all.

It would be great to arrange a regular vid/voice/chat/SL type meeting for the PBL Group!

If there is interest of course.
