LAHORE: Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sunday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) was destined to win the election NA-122 by-poll as people would vote for real change and not the hollow slogans. Addressing a public gathering at National Bank Colony Samanabad, here, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan's roadshow politics had damaged the country's economy.

LAHORE: Awami Muslim League leader and senior politician Sheikh Rashid on Sunday asked citizens of Lahore to vote for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Aleem Khan in by-election for NA-122. Addressing a PTI rally as part of electoral campaign in Dongi Ground in Samanabad, the firebrand politician urged the people of Lahore to "wake up" and save the country from loot and plunder.

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held an important meeting in Lahore to deliberate upon Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq's statements ahead of by-election in NA-122. Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan and Secretary of the ECP were also present in the meeting.

Mian Maqsood, Ameer of JI's Lahore chapter, said his party would also support PTI in PP-147 by-polls. "We will jointly contest elections with the PTI," Maqsood said. Yesterday, a PTI delegation led by Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar had met JI's Lahore ameer and sought his party's support in NA-122 against ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena, a hardline Hindu nationalist party, Monday demanded Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar to immediately leave India. Dar is performing his duty in ongoing India home series against South Africa. The demand comes from Shiv Sena a few hours after it's workers attacked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) head quarters in Mumbai ahead of Indo-Pak cricket talks.

"HAFIZABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate for vice chairman of a union council in Punjab's Hafizabad town was booked in a FIR on charges of ransacking local office of Returning Officer (RO), Samaa reported Wednesday."

"ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Saturday nominated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as the party's candidate for the slot of National Assembly's speaker."
