Top Union ministers and BJP leaders have been campaigning in PM Narendra Modi's Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh with an aim to not only win but break the record for margin of victory in the constituency.
Several Union ministers like External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, and I&B and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have already campaigned in Varanasi.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced development projects worth Rs. 500 crore while addressing a meeting in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency. The projects mainly involve improvised transport facilities, a better railways, roadways and inland waterways connection in Varanasi.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is lodged in a Ranchi jail in connection to fodder scam, will appear through video conference in the IRCTC case, a Delhi court ordered. He has been asked to appear before December 20. The order was given by Judge Arun Bharadwaj after he was informed about Lalu's ill-health.
