A Novice Guide to Digital Photography - 0 views

  •
I got hooked on digital photography when our owner gave us his digital camera to use after he saw that we could add actual food pictures to our menus and promotional materials instead of just cliparts. The first round of pictures was really simple, real novice looking. The knob on the camera had this letters that was strange to me. Slowly but surely I learned how to use this different settings. Now my pictures look better, not great but better. Presently I have two cameras one a point and shoot type. And another slightly professional, a Sony. Our company has since changed the company camera which is in my care now. Its a Canon EOS 1000D and its great especially for closeup shots. I still do food shots for our menus and promotional materials but now I always bring my cameras around everywhere go.

Lone Tree in a Lake Image, New Zealand - National Geographic Photo of the Day - 0 views

  •
In May 2015, Your Shot member Yusri Salleh took his "first photo adventure," a ten-day trip to New Zealand, where he captured this image of the famed lone tree of Lake Wanaka. Setting the scene required some consideration. "When we arrived at the planned location, there were almost 30 photographers there!" writes Salleh. "The fog was too thick and the color was dull. A black-and-white image was the best option for the situation. I wanted the image to be moody, quietly [mysterious], and different."

An Experiment in Color Grading - DIY Photography - 0 views

As the New Year rolls in, I find myself looking forward to new things-new directions, new goals, new relationships. But with the start of a new year also comes a time for reflection (literally) of what I've accomplished and how much I've progressed. As I perform my annual "house cleaning"-purging old work which isn't up to snuff, and transferring the remaining photos to yet another new hard drive (I'm amassing quite the collection)-I've had the opportunity to put a fresh set of eyes on everything I've shot over the past year or so.

High contrast, the way to go for Home Decoration - 1 views

  •
Do you feel confused while deciding how to choose the right things which makes your home just the best home in the world. There are very basic things which will decide the outcome of your efforts and we will list them down for you here. Walls color and High Contrast: Go for white color for the entire room and put a decorative piece like painting or statue with high saturated color to stand out in the entire room. What we are going to tell you now is not rocket science. White color makes small rooms look big. Also, what is important is to know whether that room will have ample sunlight or not. If one had carefully watched how colors play magic during sunset and sunrise; they would know that blue, violet, red, orange and yellow are the main ingredients to bring up those amazing combinations. Rooms with less sunlight, we recommend brighter shades of yellowish orange. The dark rooms will then be illuminated using violet- bluish lights to bring up the same magic. We recommend that if you buy paintings which are red colored for decorating room, then don't opt of statues which are blue. Go for Red vases as centerpieces and while doing that, you would be setting up a room which is high on contrast but still not overburdened with all the colors in the world. Focused Lights on main paintings: Lights are one of the most important factors to keep in mind before undertaking any sort of interior designing/re-designing. As we have discussed earlier, the shades and the extent of lighting required will depend on the amount of natural light which is available in the room. We recommend controlled lighting which can be scaled up and down as per the requirement during various times of day and night. We recommend using contrasting lights which means that on blue or purple walls, use lights which are red, orange or red yellowish in nature but use blue or purple lights on bright walls. The key to choose the right lighting is to consider the size and style of the room. Some of the import
