  •
Sunday I headed to our ponds to see what was going on. One of the boys was going after something, I thought it was the frogs and I do not like them going after the frogs. Much to my surprise it was not a frog the dog was going after, but this baby starling.

Deformed Pacific Northwest Bird mrsroadrunner.com - 0 views

For a couple days now this little girl has been showing up. When I first saw her I thought what a funny looking bird. Now that I have watched her for two days now, I feel rather sorry for her. It is our fault these birds are being altered like this, or this is the way I see it. Chemicals are more likely to blame.

Green Eyed Bee and The Honey bees Nature Photo - 0 views

  •
There was so many honeybees at the community garden I went to yesterday! I was doing all I could to keep up with the honeybees and take other photographs. This is on a squash flower and I gently pulled back on of the peddles to see what was inside. Many bees were inside doing their thing!

Karner Blue Butterfly Nature Photography - 0 views

One thing to be assured of here in Oregon is, never know what you are going to see here! I noticed this blue butterfly fluttering around, then oh my I noticed a whole lot more! I paid attention for these photographs to just one. The site of so much blue was quite pretty. Sure the wild Lupine flowers are blue, but these were flying!! So, what is a person who is armed with their trusty camera to do? Take photographs of course!

I rejoiced not over the works of the artists I respect, but listened at the breath of my town - I encountered not with the stone creations of some, but met oneself .Thus the sculptures awaken to chat with me and comforted me - the fine arts enabled me to see my own yard in the new light by questioning me where do I head.

Notes: Exposure - The light meter is different from the exposure setting. - Keeping your light meter at "0" doesn't necessarily mean it's the perfect setting. Just don't stray too far from the "0". Adjust to your liking. - Positive numbers on your exposure setting will make your photos brighter. - Negative numbers make your photos darker. Aperture - Small numbers (like f/1.4) have larger openings, which let in more light. - Big numbers (like f/16) have smaller openings, which let in less light. Shutter Speed - Seeing 100, 250, 320, etc. on your viewfinder means "1/(number seen)", like "1/100". - Try not to use 1/60 or less when handheld, that's when you use a tripod or look for something steady. - Using longer exposure (slow shutter speed) will let in more light. - Using shorter exposure (fast shutter speed) will let in less light. ISO - ISO is the sensitivity of your camera to light - Lower numbers are less sensitive to light, which give smoother photos. - Higher numbers are very sensitive to light, which give very grainy and noisy photos.

Pouring a Thermos of Hot Tea at -40°C Near the Arctic Circle | Colossal - 0 views

  •
Ontario-based photographer Michael Davies timed this impressive shot of his friend Markus hurling a thermos of hot tea through the air yesterday in -40°C weather. At such frigid temperatures water freezes instantly to form a dramatic plume of ice. For the last decade Davies has worked as a photographer in the fly-in community of Pangnirtung in Canada's High Arctic, only 20km south of the Arctic Circle, a place that sees about two hours of sunlight each day during the winter.

Photo-Series About How Different People Live In Identical Apartments - Fubiz Media - 0 views

  •
Like artist Huang Qingjun who got interested into objects that belonged to Chinese families, photographer Bogdan Gîrbovan focused on the way people exploit and decorate identical flats. It's funny to see that with the same space, each apartment looks different. A fascinating series to discover in the gallery.
