Mastering the Art Now here comes the fun part. Personally I believe that the artistic skills of a photographer cannot be taught. Those are skills that you have to hone. You can get twenty different people to take a picture of one thing and you will get twenty different photographs. What I can teach is the basics.

The Portrait Lighting Reference | Ilex Press - 1 views

Portraiture has long been the bread and butter of photography; every working photographer needs to know how to shoot and light people effectively - to flatter, to deceive, to allude and to enhance - but there has never before been such a simple, time-saving (and timeless) reference as this. Over two hundred lighting setups are shown in action, allowing you to quickly select one that will work for you.

Testing Canon EF 85mm f1.2 II, 50mm f1.2 and the Sigma 85 f1.4 I just got the chance to test out the Canon 85mm f1.2 II and 50mm f1.2. I also tested out the new Sigma 85mm f1.4 which is another lens I have been very interested in and that has been getting a lot of great praise. You can see some sample images at the bottom of the page after the review.
