This is basicly breaking the stereotypes that some people think of others who are in poverty. I really amazed me how common poverty is. I used to think it was made-up.
I thought this website was improtant because it showspeople about what some one living in poverty actually looks like. They could have a job. You might see them everyday and not know what they are living like. We know that the only way to break stereotypes is to educate. This article does just that
Ithought it was sad how it stated that poor people have usaully have jobs but they don't pay enough to suport them. so they work more hours than what my parents work.
I love how this site breaks so many stereotypes of people in poverty. When you general think about poverty, you think of "Hobo's" or a dingy, dirty white guy with fingerless gloves and a sign. This hows that not all poor people are like that, only a tiny percentage are.
i think this article was pretty interesting...it really did break a lot of stereotypes like how people in poverty don't have jobs-a lot of them actually do. they just don't pay enough.
this article gives ideas on how people can help people that are homless. after reading this article or even just the first paragraph that said that throughout the world there are people that are homeless. i didnt realize that even in lodon there are people that are homeless. i was shocked.
This is a short, simplen paragraph, that does exactly what the title says. It really made me upset reading it, because poverty happens everywhere, and can happen to anyone. Sometimes, it isn't anyone's fault. Some people are born into it. And poverty can be a result of no enough education. I feel very fortunate that both my parents have good jobs, and are educated. I know that some people aren't that lucky.
Many mayors have 10-year plans to end homelessness and had reported progress until this year. The most recent official count, in January 2007, found 671,888 people living on U.S. streets or in shelters, down 12% from January 2005.
This article is about understanding the numbers of how many people are affected by poverty, It states that one in 8 are living in terrible circumstances and it lookes at the different aspects of being "poor" and how that persons finacial stus may have been looking different in different decades.

This article shows you a list of countries that are living on $1.25-$2.00 a day, and a list of countries that are below the poverty line. This article also defines the word poverty in a way that is wasy to understand.
This article gives some frightening facts about homlessness. It also, though gives some hope. It's a blog that focuses on Poverty, Homelessness and hunger.
Although it's sad, it's good to now that there are people out there who are willing to spread the word about poverty. The people who are finding solutions to poverty are angels.
This article is about how being in poverty can affect a childs' learning ability. They don't have the motivation to learn in school and I was surprised to read that wtih their emmotional state they are very self concious about their situation.
The census bureau says one in seven people were considered poor from 2009 statistics. The census bureau says one in seven people were considered poor from 2009 statistics.
I think what Miss Kilduff is doing is very unselfish--a great quality! It's a shocking fact that there are 51,316 homeless students in NYC alone! And 1.1 million in the entire state of New York! It's not hard to believe that poverty exists in such a city, but the numbers are outstanding. I really hope that Kilduff keeps up her work, and inspires others to reach out, too.
I very much agree with Roseann Kilduff. I used to go to a private school which people are not that wealthy but are not in poverty. Now in a public school, I found out it's very different. Their are people I know that are in poverty which has opened my eye more to reality. Poverty is scene daily, even if others don't recognize it.
This website suprises me, because it really shows where poverty is in the world. It's sad because here in america, it doesn't show anybody living under 1.25 dollars a day. :/
i agree with ryan, its sad that we have to read about these trageties and then you look at yourslef, and you get everything you want, and we are also complaining about not having one thing that we dont even need.
This shows a graph of the percentage of poverty in each state. It opens my eyes a lot, because I realize that even though ohio is bad, it could be worse.
