"
Challenges Seen in Moving to Multimedia Textbooks
Supporting the use of multimedia-rich and interactive textbooks in K-12 will require much more digital bandwidth"
The term personal web means a collection technologies that offer the ability to reorganize, configure and manage online content rather than just viewing it. The personal web emerged with the advent of Web 2.0 and includes innovations such as personalized home pages, RSS feeds and aggregators, and customizable widget. (Horizon Report, 2009)
Bloom's Taxonomy divides educational objectives into three "domains:" Affective, Psychomotor, and Cognitive. Within the domains, learning at the higher levels is dependent on having attained prerequisite knowledge and skills at lower levels (Orlich, et al. 2004). A goal of Bloom's Taxonomy is to motivate educators to focus on all three domains, creating a more holistic form of education.
The presentation which Matt passed on to me looks at the response to this through the creation of Bloom's Digital Taxonomy. This identifies the nature of the learning which can take place within our digital environments and classifies this into levels. Well worth 5 minutes of your time and really made me reflect all over again on how important collaboration is within our 21st Century learning environments.
