Amazon launched it's Cloud Player and Cloud Drive service today, which lets you store files online and stream music to your computer or Android phone. We spent some time with it this morning, and despite some missing features, the service is an amazing value and pretty easy to use. Right off the bat, Amazon gives you 5 GB of free storage, which is already more than the free 2 GB Dropbox has.

Professor Bo Brinkman, has developed an Android app that could save librarians a lot of time and hassle. Using the Android's camera, the app "reads" a bookshelf, and with an AR overlay, quickly flags those books that are misplaced. It will also point to the correct place on the bookshelf so the book can easily be re-shelved correctly.

Technically, 4G is not a technology, but rather a benchmark. 4G speeds mean the ability to downoad information at a speed of 100 mbps. The four major cell phone carriers in the United States, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint all advertise that they have networks that carry 4G speed, and all of them in actuality do not. Of the four carriers, T-Mobile's network could theoretically allow users to see 21mbps, no where near the 100 needed to actually be 4G.

Now we can see little research that has been directed at the management infrastructure for end-user computing (EUC) from an organization design perspective. This study can be reports on the testing of a previously published contingen model in which two different structural forms are modeled for four states of EUC implementation: First there is an organic design it's characterized by a decentralized, highly participatory form of decision making with loose controls, and second is a mechanistic design.
