She used to teach social studies, but is now the K-12 Technology Integrationist and Instructional Coach at Rock Valley Community Schools in Iowa. She emphasizes that, as with any classroom technology, teachers need to be careful not to just substitute a tech tool for an analog one. Recording what is happening on your screen can be a pretty useful tool for teachers who want to create video tutorials or presentations for their classrooms. Many teachers are using screencasting tools but before you delve into what you're going to do with your screencast, you need to take a few moments to learn about the tools that are available to do the actual recording. SqoolTools is an online service, brought to you by SqoolTechs, LLC, that provides instructional tools for the purpose of "Supporting Quality Online Opportunities for Learning". Specifically, SqoolTools is a virtual learning environment, built on Moodle open source software, that allows K-12 teachers to create interactive websites to either support classroom instruction or to deliver instruction completely online. Throughout the course of my research we explored a great many tools and applications for mobile phones, in particular the ability to blend learning experiences from both inside and outside the classroom. However the area that my research specifically sought to explore was the impact 'any-time' access to information would have on the classroom.

A dozen activities are presented for using an online education technology tool to engage students in classroom activities to develop a better understanding of concepts.
