Thos tool offers a free service for checking small documents and a free service for checking documents against each other. Doc Cop also offers a fee based service that will check large documents and do a more comprehensive check than that offered for free.

This post showcases a range of tools that can assist teachers with formative assessment. They range from providing interactive quizzes/check ups to providing the useful feedback that is essential in a classroom focused on student centered formative learning.

Mr Moses has constructed a compelling argument for embracing the use of social networking tools with students via a series of links and embedded movies on this media wiki page. If you're looking for those reports that you know would back up your case for using these tools then check in here as chances are Mr Moses has a link to them.

WordSift is another visualisation tool that was created primarily for teachers. It works just like Wordle but just a bit better. All you need do is paste in the text and then sit back. The sifted words then show up in orange or green and the fun really begins. This tool would be lots of fun on an IWB as well as on your own computer. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks."

Can technology support student learning by raising self-awareness? To find out, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County built a "Check My Activity" (CMA) tool that lets students compare their use of resources in the university's Blackboard course management system to that of other students. Analysis of 1,461 courses using Blackboard in spring 2010 showed that D and F students used the course management system 47 percent less than students earning a C or higher

Online Grammar check is a free punctuation checker tool. It checks grammar of English, Spanish, French & more with stylistics, spelling and grammar issues.

Check the edcenter area at Bookemon. Makes nice looking interactive "books" -and you do NOT need to pay or print them. (Here is a review: http://www.teachersfirst.com/single.cfm?id=10404). I think multiple students can collaborate. I don't like the commercial "look" of the site, but the tool itself is easy and free.

This resource aims to help those making decisions about their use of freely available 'Web 2.0' interactive and collaborate e-learning tools. Each product, site or service described in these pages can be searched or browsed by a specific Activity or the usability/accessibility checks that it passed. The applications have short descriptions and comments regarding their ease of use and functionality. If you are involved in teaching and learning and are wanting to make more use of Web 2.0 services in your e-learning activities, or if you are interested in how Web 2.0 can supplement your existing methods, this section may be useful to you.

Another set of links from OnlineDegreePrograms.org, this one deals with Google Wave. It deals with the basics through Communication and Collaboration, Shortcuts, Management and Customization, to Applications and Extensions. Definitely a set of links to check through even though the surge of the wave seems to have subsided a little.

This tools gives you the option of checking against Yahoo as well as Google

If you want to see which Twitter lists you might be on then check in here with your username. You will then be given a tag cloud indicative of which lists you are on. Clicking on the tags highlights and links to the lists you are on.

I Can Animate has quickly established itself as the Stop Motion Animation tool for Mac OS X. Windows users can now enjoy using this fantastic application and join the growing numbers of 'would be' animators. I Can Animate is now used by educators and film makers world wide, wanting to create Stop Frame Animations (also known as claymation).

Site for software entitled I Can Animate. Other teachers have raved about it. Now available for Windows machines. Seems to be worth checking out.

Now that you are well established on Twitter and following more friends than ever you might like to know those who are not adding to your knowledge or update stream. Twitoria is just the place to check up on how many friends you are really following? By entering your username on the main page, Twitoria finds your friends that haven't tweeted in a long time so you can give them a gentle reminder, (or as Twittoria suggests, the boot!).
