Chem Reference is an online periodic table of elements that offers a couple of handy features for students. Students can select an element on the table to open a list of key facts about that element. Additionally, Chem Reference provides a simple visualization of the structure of each element. Students can also click through Chem Reference to the Wikipedia entry for each element.

THE backpacks at Albert Park College look a little small. But then everything at the school, which is entering its second year, is a little different. Students helped design the bags and point out that they do not need many books. Nor any calculators, notebooks, atlases and diaries. Instead each student has what the principal calls an "electronic pencil box": an iPad.

Recently, Wiki Summarizer got a few nice upgrades that should prove to be useful. In an effort to make Wiki Summarizer more visually appealing and easier to navigate, Wiki Summarizer offers expandable webs of related articles. For example, I searched for "German Shepherd" and a web of related terms was created. Clicking on the "+" symbol next to each term opens a new element of the web.
