This is a demonstration of searching by colour across approximately 18,500 images from the National Library of Australia's photographic collection. You can pick a colour from the colour chart or fine tune your selection using the colour sliders. As so much of the collection is made up of black and white images, not all colours will bring back results.

An amazing site from BBC Earth. The beautifully interactive site is full of images, video, and stories from BBC Earth's most captivating documentaries. Each month features a different theme. The astonishing images and video capture life's most colorful displays in nature. The search page is equally stunning, offering an on-screen widget that lets students adjust the pictures in the grid by filtering by hot/cold, slow/fast, sea/sky, or colour.

Error level analysis seeks to prove that whether or not an image has been altered. It takes the image and shows differing error levels throughout it, strongly suggesting some form of digital manipulation. Areas to note are the lips and shirt, as well as the eyes. All are at significantly different error levels than their surroundings. Presumably, colours have been altered and areas brightened.

Mr Picassohead is a fun website. It allows users to create their own 'Picasso' by selecting different types of faces and facial features, colours and so on and dragging them onto a canvas. It is a great way to begin a unit of work on Picasso, Cubism or abstract art with students.
