A woman who was raped three years ago by a Milwaukee police officer responding to a 911 call she made has filed a lawsuit against him, the city, police department and police chief. In her lawsuit, the woman accuses the imprisoned former officer, Ladmarald Cates, of violating her civil rights and leaving her with emotional distress by attacking her in July 2010. She also accuses police officials and the city of failing to properly discipline Cates for previous violations, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Protesters hurling firebombs stormed a local police station unit in southern Ukraine after authorities refused to detain one of two police officers implicated in the brutal gang-rape of a young woman. Residents of Vradiyevka, some 330 kilometers (200 miles) south of Kiev, continued to rally outside the station Tuesday, booing the local governor and vowing to continue their vigil until the officer is arrested. During the storming late Monday, protesters smashed windows, broke doors and set fire to the building, while police fought back with tear gas.

CHICAGO (CN) - Chicago police officers sodomized a man with a gun, "laugh(ing) hysterically," until he agreed to buy drugs for the cops in a sting, the man claims in court. Angel Perez sued Chicago and its police Officer Jorge L. Lopez in Federal Court. Perez was working as a delivery driver on Oct. 20, 2012, when cops in an unmarked car pulled him over, handcuffed him and took him to the Harrison Street Police Station, he says in the complaint. There, "Two officers began assaulting the plaintiff with questions regarding robberies and drug dealers in the Taylor Street area," the complaint states. "Plaintiff responded that he did not know anything about robberies or drug dealings in the Taylor Street area and again and repeatedly requested that the officers call his lawyer. Plaintiff's lawyer was never contacted and the questioning continued. The officers were particularly interested in why the plaintiff had the telephone number of an individual by the name of 'Dwayne' in his telephone."

An Elmwood Place police chief who used police computers to try to solicit sex from what he thought was a 15-year-old girl isn't eligible to get his criminal conviction erased, a Hamilton County judge ruled Tuesday. Common Pleas Court Judge Norbert Nadel ruled Tuesday that Jeremy Alley's request to have his criminal record erased is misplaced because he isn't eligible. Alley, now 36, still has to register as a sex offender and is ineligible for the expungement.

A former Lowell police officer has been sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to using the power of his badge to extort and solicit sexual favors from prostitutes while he was on and off duty. In Lowell Superior Court on Wednesday, Aravanh Lakmany, 32, of Dracut, pleaded guilty to charges of extortion by threat and three counts of solicitation of prostitutes. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office dropped three counts of rape against Lakmany. Judge Richard Tucker sentenced Lakmany to two years in the Middlesex House of Correction followed by three years probation.
