      This page discusses how data collected by ALEKS could inform a teacher's weekly planning by indicating particular areas that students are struggling with OR highlighting new topics most students are prepared to grapple with. Again, ALEKS is presented as a system to supplement instruction and/or prepare students for future material. Unclear if it can be used for specific, guided practice of topics covered in a traditional lecture setting.

    Observations from Student Trial: - Explanations are mostly text-based. Could be a useful review resource for some types of learners, but in general not a stand-alone teaching method. - Gives students very clear feedback on what it thinks they know/don't know. Could be very useful for focused review for a written assessment. - Automatically suggests review of topics it thinks student has forgotten.

    An adaptive learning/assessment tool that customizes instruction for each individual. Potentially a great supplement to a course, but can it replace nightly drill-based homework?

    A publisher's site with online versions of textbooks along with supplemental material.  Several Calculus textbooks have good tools to create online homework assignments including: - Selection of individual questions from a range of sources. - Links to relevant instructional material from questions. - Immediate feedback. - Online grading. - Decent equation editor for answers. - Some MC Questions :(
