My work as a psychologist continues to be extremely gratifying, as I watch my patients grow, heal, take risks and start to find life less overwhelming and much more enjoyable.
Using warmth, acceptance and a great deal of therapeutic humor, therapy becomes a comfortable and life-changing experience.
In addition to my private practice, I am the Associate Director of Personal Counseling/Psychological
Services at Farmingdale State College and an assistant professor of psychology at St. John's University.
These experiences enrich my ability to deal with a wide range of people facing all kinds of challenges.
The decision to begin psychotherapy can be a life-changing one. I approach my practice with this in mind.
I work with each person collaboratively to address immediate as well as long-standing
issues and concerns with a focus on understanding underlying causes. My goal is to enhance each individuals inherent capacity for growth,
development and self-awareness. I have specialized post-doctoral training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
I work with adults, adolescents and children.
"As a professor at Adelphi University, I taught in the departments of
Communication Disorders, Special Education and Psychology. I have been
involved in clinical research and published five textbooks on
developmental disabilities, educational practices, language disorders,
collaboration and inclusion.
