This video is lengthy, but it is definitely worth watching for information on how to search effectively using Google. The man speaking throughout gives tips on what to search and how to search without getting thousands of hits on each search. You all should watch it!

This particular site is for English teachers and gives 101 excellent other sites that English teachers can use in the classroom. Also, students can take part in fun and engaging activities that have to do with English. goedonline.com is a great resource in general because it provides useful sites for all content areas. I used it to select 10 or so sites for each content area to give to my classmates when they are creating their custom search engine.

This video is extremely helpful because it walks a person through using a search engine. The article on this same site also relates useful information. One part of the article reads: "This little crash course will teach you how to explore the Net more efficiently."

Google Custom Search twitter account is a great way to discover how the search engine functions. It is also a could source to collect ideas on different ways to use the search engine in general or even in the classroom. The twitter account's default reads: "News, tips and updates from the Custom Search team."

This website is a great resource because it provides 12 great academic search engines that teachers and students can use in the classroom. Search engines make it easier and safer for students because they narrow the search down, using only selected sites pertaining to the specific content area.
