This website is great because it places the apps into specific groups (bibliography, note taking, storytelling, etc.) This allows you an efficient way to find something specific.

This internet safety video shows the consequences of sharing personal information with strangers. It is a little dated and gets mildly intense, but it gets students' attention and gets them talking about internet safety issues. You'll be surprised how many of your students have had personal experiences with being solicited for information online. This is appropriate for grades 3 through 5.

It's so important for even young students to understand that they should protect their personal information. This video does an excellent job of defining personal information and explaining who it is okay and not okay to share it with. Appropriate for PK though 2.

Edmodo is a website similar to facebook that corresponds to a site that is similar to D2L. If a school does not have their own D2L, Edmodo is a good site to use for one.

Edmodo is an easy way to get your students connected so they can safely collaborate, get and stay organized, and access assignments, grades, and school messages.

My daughter's school uses Edmodo and it works great for students. Teachers assign homework, and students ask follow-up questions while completing the assignment or anything concerning the class lesson.

Wikispaces Classroom is a place where teachers can make a wiki for their classroom. Students can join this wiki and collaborate with each other. They can have discussions, share information with each other, and do projects with each other.

This app allows teachers to organize things such as their notes, attendance, behavior of students and much more. Al of this information can be easily shared with parents via email.

This website goes into detail about what Project Based Learning is. This is a great tool other than the textbook to get a complete grasp on the concept. Not only does it describe PBL as "a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge", but it also provides steps to follow when creating an engaging PBL assignment lesson plan. These steps include: Key Knowledge, Challenging Problem, Sustained Inquiry, Authenticity, Student Voice & Choice, Reflection, Critique & Revision, and Public Product. Following this list of steps and making sure the lesson plan provides all of these points will make for an engaging class. Another component this website contains is a blog for educators to post about the Project Based lessons they implemented in the classroom. I believe sharing ideas with other teachers is one of the most helpful ways to improve your own teaching because you receive feedback and encouragement to what you are doing well, and what can be changed for the benefit of the class.

This would be a good site to use because it breaks down the steps students need to take in order to make a film. It also gives great ideas for sites that they can share on and how to go about doing so. It also gives examples of what some of these videos may look like.

It defines project based learning, shares some of the possible outcomes, recommends components for successful PBL lessons, and informs us about the best practices to use regarding problem based learning.
