    On behalf of the Governor's Office of Health Transformation (OHT), and the Ohio Departments of Medicaid (ODM), Health (ODH) and Higher Education (ODHE), the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) is requesting applications from qualified investigators through the Infant Mortality (IM) Research Partnership to identify interventions and resources needed to improve health outcomes for underserved populations and address the complicated health issue of infant mortality from a systems perspective. The IM Research Partnership seeks to fund multiple research projects in areas including but not limited to: systems dynamics modeling of the impact of the following efforts on infant mortality: improved access to care, safe sleep, and impact of progesterone; predictive modeling for infant mortality; spatial GIS modeling for identifying high-risk communities; and evaluation of the impact of OIMRI home visiting programs.

    This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages research project grant (R01) applications to leverage large-scale, real-world data from electronic health records (EHRs) from a variety of systems (e.g., the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrative claims, as well as public or private health care systems and networks) to understand risk, onset, course, and impact of treatments and services for mental and neurological disorders and to identify promising new mental health and neurological disorders research. There is particular interest in leveraging EHRs and administrative data to 1) understand and improve the treatment of post traumatic psychopathology, including posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and risk for suicide; and 2) characterize post-trauma multi-symptom recovery trajectory patterns of TBI, that may include post traumatic stress disorder, depression, cognitive impairment, pain, substance abuse disorder and risk for suicide. NIMH also invites innovative approaches to use EHR and administrative data to understand risk, onset, course, and impact of treatments and services for mental disorders more broadly.

    Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are engineered systems that are built from, and depend upon, the seamless integration of computational algorithms and physical components. Advances in CPS will enable capability, adaptability, scalability, resiliency, safety, security, and usability that will far exceed the simple embedded systems of today. CPS technology will transform the way people interact with engineered systems -- just as the Internet has transformed the way people interact with information. New smart CPS will drive innovation and competition in sectors such as agriculture, energy, transportation, building design and automation, healthcare, and manufacturing.     The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support a research project that aims to develop and implement an influenza-like illness (ILI)-specific student absentee monitoring system in kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) schools and assess its usability for early detection of influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and other respiratory pathogen transmission in schools and surrounding communities. To achieve this aim, the project team will: 1) rapidly determine the causes of school absenteeism in students across selected school district(s) over a three-year period; 2) detect within-household transmission of influenza and SARS-CoV-2 in households from which a student has been absent from school due to ILI; and 3) assess comparability between influenza-specific and SARS-CoV-2-specific student absenteeism data from the participating schools and multiple layers of complementary influenza and SARS-CoV-2 surveillance data routinely collected in the health care facilities serving the general population of this school district.

    CDC, in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Program/Department of AIDS Control, has successfully laid the foundation for quality standards and approaches within India's vast HIV laboratory network through a previous five-year laboratory strengthening funding opportunity announcement (FOA). Many achievements were made during the course of the five-year project period, including accreditation of national and state reference labs. This follow-on FOA is expected to build upon and sustain previous accomplishments through onsite mentoring and in service staff training with an eye to higher quality services and scale up. A plan will be developed to facilitate laboratory quality at the grassroots level for 12,000 + Integrated HIV Testing and Counseling Centers (ICTCs). This shall be done through trainer/mentor creation within the HIV laboratory network to assist peripheral laboratories in implementing minimum quality standards. Given its expanded technical assistance (TA) scope, it is also expected to build the capacity and assure quality in a phased manner for HIV related tests like CD4 enumeration, HIV viral load and STI through strengthening leadership and mentoring capacity within the laboratory network. Now in Phase IV of its HIV/AIDS response, the Government of India (GoI) is keen to address any gaps in testing coverage.

    The Intellectual Property Enforcement Program (IPEP), administered by BJA, is designed to provide national support and improve the capacity of state, local, and tribal criminal justice systems to address IP enforcement, including prosecution, prevention, training, and technical assistance.
