The Science of Science & Innovation Policy (SciSIP) program supports research designed to advance the scientific basis of science and innovation policy. Research funded by the program thus develops, improves and expands models, analytical tools, data and metrics that can be applied in the science policy decision making process. For example, research proposals may develop behavioral and analytical conceptualizations, frameworks or models that have applications across a broad array of SciSIP challenges, including the relationship between broader participation and innovation or creativity. Proposals may also develop methodologies to analyze science and technology data, and to convey the information to a variety of audiences. Researchers are also encouraged to create or improve science and engineering data, metrics and indicators reflecting current discovery, particularly proposals that demonstrate the viability of collecting and analyzing data on knowledge generation and innovation in organizations. Among the many research topics supported are:examinations of the ways in which the contexts, structures and processes of science and engineering research are affected by policy decision, the evaluation of the tangible and intangible returns from investments in science and from investments in research and development, the study of structures and processes that facilitate the development of usable knowledge, theories of creative processes and their transformation into social and economic outcomes, the collection, analysis and visualization of new data describing the scientific and engineering enterprise. This announcement solicits applications for fiscal year (FY) 2014 extramural grant program, Social and Behavioral Interventions to Increase Solid Organ Donation, a grant program administered by the Division of Transplantation (DoT), Healthcare Systems Bureau (HSB), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The overall goal of this grant program is to reduce the gap between the demand for organ transplants and the supply of organs from deceased donors by identifying successful strategies that can serve as model interventions to increase deceased organ donation registration or family consent. Accordingly, this program will support sound applied research efforts to test the effectiveness of strategies that target any of the three program objectives listed below. The specific objectives of this grant program are to increase, and improve understanding of how to increase: 1)    individual commitment to be a deceased organ donor and documentation of that commitment 2)    consent of family (or others authorized to consent) for organ donation for a deceased relative 3)    commitment of parents/legal guardians to authorize organ donation for a minor child in the event of the child's death 

The Consolidated Grant Program to Address Children and Youth Experiencing Domestic and Sexual Assault and Engage Men and Boys as Allies, hereafter referred to as the Consolidated Youth Program, supports activities that were previously funded under the following four OVW grant programs: Grants to Assist Children and Youth Exposed to Violence Program (CEV); Services to Advocate for and Respond to Youth Program (Youth Services); Services, Training, Education and Policies to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking in Secondary Schools Grant Program (STEP); and the Engaging Men and Boys in Preventing Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Program (Engaging Men). The Consolidated Youth Program creates a unique opportunity for communities to increase collaboration among non-profit victim service providers, violence prevention and children (0-10), youth (11-18), young adult (19-24) and men-serving organizations, tribes and tribal governments, local government agencies, schools, and programs that support men's role in combating violence against women and girls. 

The AccessLex Center for Legal Education Excellence, in partnership with the Association for Institutional Research, is accepting applications for its 2017 Research and Dissertation Fellows Program. The annual competition awards grants to scholars and doctoral students in support of year-long research projects. The program is designed to promote scholarship on issues related to access, affordability, and the value of legal education specifically, and graduate and professional education more broadly. Preference will be given to proposals that use regional, national, or multi-institutional datasets (although research focused on a single institution is acceptable). In addition, preference will be given to proposals that specifically address legal education; however, proposals that study access, affordability, and value of graduate and professional education more generally also are encouraged. Researchers may analyze pre-existing data or include the construction of a new dataset in their proposal. Two levels of grants are available to recipients affiliated with a non-profit U.S. postsecondary institution or relevant higher and legal education organization. 1) Research Grants: grants of up $50,000 are available to faculty, practitioners, and scholars. 2) Dissertation Grants: Grants of up to $25,000 are available to doctoral students for dissertation research and writing under the guidance of a faculty advisor.

The Building Bridges 2014-15 Grants Program will support nonprofit organizations in their work to plan and implement cultural programs or projects intended to increase public knowledge and understanding of current day Muslim societies through arts or media-based experiences. The program will support projects that create current-day, immersive, interactive, collaborative and/or engaging experiences tailored to the needs and interests of target audience(s).  A total of $1,500,000 will be awarded for projects and programs that begin in March 2015. Grants in the amounts of $25,000 to $300,000 will be awarded for projects and programs over one to three years, depending on the need of the project. Grants may support up to 75% of the total program or project budget. The total grant requested may not exceed 25% of the organization's annual expenses. Nonprofit organizations with operating expense budgets greater than $250,000 are eligible to apply.  Grantees will be selected through a competitive, panel review process. The application process will include three steps: an intent to apply electronic postcard to notify the foundation that you will submit a letter of interest (LOI); a letter of interest (LOI); and a full proposal from organizations selected by the LOI review panel. he Community Organizing Grants program contains PDF's annual grantmaking docket and the De Colores Rapid Response Fund. Any organization that fits PDF's guidelines is eligible to apply for a grant. Currently PDF only funds organizations in the United States, Haiti and Mexico through the Community Organizing Grants docket. Each year PDF receives hundreds of proposals from grassroots community organizations seeking funding. Through a careful review process, PDF selects those organizations that will have a significant impact in their geographic and social justice focus area, or on issues that are not yet recognized by progressive funders. PDF's 2019 Community Organizing Grant cycle will open on November 30, 2018. At that time, you may access an online portal from a link on our website to complete your application. Applications are due December 28, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. PST.

Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

The National Science Foundation's Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (BCS), Division of Social and Economic Sciences (SES), National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES), and the SBE Office of Multidisciplinary Activities (SMA) award grants to doctoral students to improve the quality of dissertation research. These grants provide funds for items not normally available through the student's university. Additionally, these grants allow doctoral students to undertake significant data-gathering projects and to conduct field research in settings away from their campus that would not otherwise be possible. Proposals are judged on the basis of their scientific merit, including the theoretical importance of the research question and the appropriateness of the proposed data and methodology to be used in addressing the question. In an effort to improve the quality of dissertation research, many programs in both BCS and SES, the Research on Science and Technology Surveys and Statistics program within NCSES, and the Science of Science and Innovation Policy program in SMA accept doctoral dissertation improvement grant proposals. Requirements vary across programs, so proposers are advised to consult the relevant program's webpage for specific information and contact the program director if necessary.

The Global Health Research Innovation Center (GHRIC) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for faculty research grants. These grants are designed to foster the development of research initiatives and partnership projects in global health. Grants will be made to Miami faculty to undertake small-scale, collaborative pilot research projects in global health and/or travel (of Miami faculty or domestic/international collaborators) to cultivate research relationships through establishing institutional linkages and jointly developing or writing research proposals. The expectation is that at least one outcome of each project will be the submission of an external grant proposal. Proposed projects must involve at least two Miami faculty members from different departments. Budgets are expected to be between $4000-$8000. We expect to award at least 2 grants for the 2016-2017 academic year. If funded, additional funding of up to $1000 may be available to help support presentation of the proposed project at either the annual conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health or the Global Health and Innovation Conference (Unite for Sight).

The Expeditions Council is an editorially driven grant program that supports exploration and adventure worldwide.  Proposed projects must have the potential to yield compelling stories and images. Applications are also judged on the qualifications of applicants and their teams, and on the project's merit, uniqueness and safety protocols. The Council consists of representatives of National Geographic editorial divisions (magazines, television, books, website, and so on) who review and vote on grant applications, as well as an advisory board of external consultants. While the Expeditions Council funds a broad range of exploration and adventure, if a project is based on scientific inquiry, applicants must provide detailed methodology.  In addition, all projects must adhere to applicable scientific or professional ethical standards, which are outlined in the grant application and are subject to scientific review The Expeditions Council offers its grantees the opportunity to work effectively with National Geographic's many divisions. Grantees are therefore able to share the results of their expeditions with National Geographic's global audience.

In order to advance understanding of this disorder, the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) created the NCRG Center of Excellence in Gambling Research grants program in 2009. The first recipients of center grants-the University of Minnesota, The University of Chicago and Yale University-have made exceptional strides in advancing research on disordered gambling behavior. The NCRG is pleased to continue this program in 2016 by inviting proposals for the third round of grants in support of Centers of Excellence in Gambling Research in 2016.

The Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies invites applications for postdoctoral research grants of up to $5,000 in any field of Baltic Studies. Funds may be used for travel, duplication, materials, equipment or other needs as specificed. Applicants must have received PhD no earlier than January 1, 2007. The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now accepting proposals for a new grant called the Saudi-American Educational and Cultural Initiative Grants (SAECIG) and is for Saudi and U.S. non-governmental and community organizations, universities, entrepreneurs, cultural organizations or qualified individuals who propose to work together to develop or expand educational, professional and cultural exchange activities and promote dialogue and partnership between the people of the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The new grant will support innovative forms of collaboration to expand the diversity of activities in the U.S.-Saudi partnership and develop the next generation of leaders, especially among youth, young professionals and women, and to promote mutual understanding and respect through long-term partnership and cooperation between our two countries.

Grants will be awarded for two types of projects: scholarly research and practical innovations. We aim to support research, prototypes, and shared learning that can help donors and social sector organizations use digital data safely, ethically, and effectively to improve their work.

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to offer a limited number of conference grants. These grants will be used to subsidize the cost of attendance for individuals to attend either CUR Dialogues 2015: Climbing the Ladder to Funding Success: Diverse Sources, Diverse Pathways or Undergraduate Research Programs: Building, Enhancing, Sustaining. Nominees are asked to provide contact and demographic information, a statement of expenses, a statement describing financial need, and a statement on expected outcomes from attending the conference. Historically under-represented groups and first-time attendees will be given priority. The review committee will work to ensure awardees represent a diverse subset of the applicants, specifically across discipline/CUR Division and geographic location. Awardees will receive the conference grant as a rebate after their confirmed participation in the conference, and the submission of reimbursement paperwork.

The American Academy of Religion, a member of the International Association for the History of Religions, is inviting applications to the Collaborative International Research Grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of research collaborations between and among scholars located in different geographical regions who wish to pursue focused, joint projects in the study of religion, broadly defined. Projects grounded in international research relationships that bring together scholars from disparate backgrounds and methodological approaches that advance critical research on and understanding of religious traditions, practices, and issues are encouraged. Awards may be used for a variety of project expenses, including enhanced communication and travel. Junior as well as more established scholars are encouraged to apply, as are independent scholars. Award recipients are required to share the findings of the research collaboration publicly in at least two different ways. That might include reporting the results of the collaboration in a publication, a blog post, or on a web page, or in a presentation at the AAR annual meeting or another conference sponsored by an IAHR member association. To be eligible, applicants must be composed of two or more collaborators, at least one of whom must hold a doctoral degree. Grant recipients must maintain AAR membership throughout the grant award period. The Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research is a private operating foundation dedicated to the advancement of anthropology around the world. Located in New York City, it is one of the major funding sources for international anthropological research and is actively engaged with the anthropological community through its varied grant, fellowship, networking, conference, and symposia programs. It also founded and continues to publish the international journal Current Anthropology, and disseminates the results of its symposia through open-access supplementary issues of this journal. As part of its mission, the foundation is accepting applications for post-PhD Research Grants program. Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to individuals holding a PhD or equivalent degree to support individual research projects. The program supports research that demonstrates a clear link to anthropological theory and debates and promises to make a solid contribution to advancing these ideas. There is no preference for any methodology, research location, or sub-field. The foundation encourages projects that employ a comparative perspective, can generate innovative approaches or ideas, and/or integrate two or more sub-fields.

Bringing Theory to Practice Project, an independent project established by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, is accepting proposals from universities and colleges in the United States for projects aimed promoting the nexus of engaged learning, civic engagement, and psychosocial well-being among college and university students. Seminar grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded for projects that bring together diverse members of the campus community to discuss the civic mission of the institution and how the full expression of that mission can be achieved. Proposals will be accepted on a quarterly-deadline system (June 15, September 15, December 15, and March 15), with awards announced two weeks after each deadline. Program Development grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to enhance or extend a program that is consistent with BTtoP's objective of promoting engaged learning, civic engagement, and the psychosocial well-being of students. Institutional matching support is required for all grants. Proposals will bee accepted on a quarterly-deadline system (June 15, September 15, December 15, and March 15), with awards announced six to eight weeks after each deadline.
