The Foundation has instituted two research grant programs to assist scholars doing research at the George Bush Presidential Library. The Peter and Edith O'Donnell Research Grant supports research in any field, but it must make use of the holdings of the George Bush Presidential Library. The Korea Grant Program focuses on Asia, particularly Korea, and the research also must make use of the holdings of the George Bush Presidential Library. The Korea Grant Program is made possible through an endowment from the Korea Foundation. Awards for both grants range from $500 to $2,500. The Scowcroft Institute also offers Scowcroft Faculty Research Grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 to Bush School and other Texas A&M faculty doing policy-relevant research on various aspects of international affairs.

The National Sea Grant College Program was enacted by U.S. Congress in 1966 (amended in 2008, Public Law 110-394) to support leveraged federal and state partnership that harness the intellectual capacity of the nation's universities and research institutions to solve problems and generate opportunities in coastal communities. This notice announces that applications may be submitted for the 2020 National Sea Grant College Program Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship (Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship Program). The National Sea Grant College Program anticipates funding not less than 35 selected applicants, of which those assigned to the Legislative branch will be approximately 14. Each award will be funded up to a total of $71,500 in federal funding, which includes up to $10,000 for office-related travel. In certain circumstances additional office-related travel funding may take the award above $71,500. In such cases any additional funds will be administered through an amendment to the grant. Applicants are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Sea Grant Program in their state/territory one to two months prior to the state application deadline to receive application support and provide notification of an intent to apply. The applicant should allow sufficient time to schedule an interview with the eligible Sea Grant program at the program's request.

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies (BIAAS) seeks grant proposals for projects aimed at promoting an understanding of the historic relationship between the United States and Austria in the fields of history, politics, economics, law and cultural studies. Grants may include support for related lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences, and documentaries. Grants for salary replacement will not be considered. Grants will not exceed $25,000 unless a compelling case is made for a larger grant. Grant applications must be submitted by March 31, 2014. Applicants will be notified of the result of their application in July 2014. Grants will be distributed on or before September 1, 2014. A final report will be due within ninety days after the completion date of the award period.

The U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) seeks single-country proposals for its Local Grants program. The Local Grants program serves as MEPI's most direct means of supporting organizations and individuals in the Middle East and North Africa. These grants are designed to: * Promote positive change, advocacy, and civic activism; * Strengthen civil society; * Support citizen's efforts to achieve economic, social, and political empowerment; * Expand opportunities for women and youth; * Strengthen the rule of law; * Develop independent media; and * Help communities work alongside governments in shaping their own futures. MEPI's regional offices, located in the Middle East and North Africa, manage the program. A MEPI Committee at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate within each country of origin reviews all Local Grant proposals, and forwards only the most competitive proposals to one of MEPI's two regional offices to negotiate the awards. MEPI accepts proposals to this program on a rolling basis, but each U.S. Embassy or Consulate has a unique selection process for submissions. Applicants should ask the respective U.S. Embassies or Consulates about their selection processes before preparing their submissions.

Established in 2010, these funding programs award grants to scholars engaged in projects studying Congress, politics, or policy issues. The Dole Archive and Special Collections at the Dole Institute of Politics houses Senator Bob Dole's extensive collections that document his 36-year career in the House and Senate. While in residence, the Research Fellow and Travel Grant awardees will use these collections, which encompass a wide range of legislative, historical, and policy issues. The Travel Grant program is intended to defray costs associated with research-related travel to the Dole Institute. This program offers reimbursements of up to $750 to undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and independent scholars.  Awards for 2013 must be used before June 30, 2013, while 2014 awards may be used after July 1, 2014. Recipients will be required to submit a final copy of any projects produced through the Travel Grant as well as submitting to the Dole Institute a 500-1000 word statement describing the research conducted here that will be used by the Dole Institute. The Dole Archive and Special Collections is now accepting applications for the 2014 Research Fellowship.  Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are eligible to apply for this $2,500 award which will support substantial contributions to the study of Congress, politics, or policy issues on a national or international scale. The fellow will be required to conduct research at the Dole Archives for a period of 1-3 weeks between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2015. In addition, the Fellow will be required to submit a final copy of projects produced through the Fellowship as well as submitting to the Dole Institute a 500-1000 word statement describing the research conducted here that will be used by the Dole Institute.

Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

The National Science Foundation's Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (BCS), Division of Social and Economic Sciences (SES), National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES), and the SBE Office of Multidisciplinary Activities (SMA) award grants to doctoral students to improve the quality of dissertation research. These grants provide funds for items not normally available through the student's university. Additionally, these grants allow doctoral students to undertake significant data-gathering projects and to conduct field research in settings away from their campus that would not otherwise be possible. Proposals are judged on the basis of their scientific merit, including the theoretical importance of the research question and the appropriateness of the proposed data and methodology to be used in addressing the question. In an effort to improve the quality of dissertation research, many programs in both BCS and SES, the Research on Science and Technology Surveys and Statistics program within NCSES, and the Science of Science and Innovation Policy program in SMA accept doctoral dissertation improvement grant proposals. Requirements vary across programs, so proposers are advised to consult the relevant program's webpage for specific information and contact the program director if necessary.

The U.S. Embassy Brussels Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines our funding priorities, strategic themes, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Applications for programs are accepted on a rolling basis until the deadline. Each quarter prior to the deadline, a grant review committee reviews applications. The deadline is necessary to provide sufficient time to process and award programs in advance of the end of our fiscal year on September 30, 2020. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Purpose of Grants: PAS Brussels invites proposals for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Belgium by highlighting shared values and promoting bilateral cooperation. Grant proposals must convey an American cultural element, support a priority program area (see below), or include a connection with American expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s) in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.

The Foundation awards travel grants to individual scholars to support historical research on Venice and the former Venetian empire, and for the study of contemporary Venetian society and culture. Disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are eligible areas of study, including (but not limited to) archaeology, architecture, art, bibliography, economics, history, history of science, law, literature, music, political science, religion, and theater.One of the Venetian Research Program grants awarded will be designated as the Henry A. Millon Award in Art and Architectural History. Applicants and grantees are advised to plan for the added difficulties surrounding travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are restrictions on both international and domestic travel. Additionally, access to archives and other research institutions can be difficult to ascertain and continue to change. Grantees should consult the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization and the Italian health authorities when planning their travel and research. To support scholars, the Foundation has lengthened the grant period to a two-year timeframe. Grantees will be able to adjust their travel plans and submit an updated itinerary. Each will be asked to confirm the accessibility of their research sites. Grant payments will be provided close to each scholar's research period. We hope that this added flexibility will allow scholars to stay safe while moving forward with their important work.

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) is one of four grant programs that constitute the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) focus on transportation infrastructure security activities. These grant programs are part of a comprehensive set of measures authorized by Congress and implemented by DHS to help strengthen the Nation's critical infrastructure against potential terrorist attacks. PSGP provides funds to state, territorial, local, and private sector partners to support increased port-wide risk management and protect critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism. Among the five basic homeland security missions noted in the DHS Quadrennial Homeland Security Review, PSGP supports the goal to Strengthen National Preparedness and Resilience. The 2018-2022 FEMA Strategic Plan creates a shared vision for managing the risks posed by terrorism and sets an ambitious, yet achievable, path forward to unify and further professionalize emergency management across the country. PSGP supports the goals of Building a Culture of Preparedness and of Readying the Nation for Catastrophic Disasters. We invite our stakeholders and partners to also adopt these priorities and join us in building a more prepared and resilient nation.

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to offer a limited number of conference grants. These grants will be used to subsidize the cost of attendance for individuals to attend either CUR Dialogues 2015: Climbing the Ladder to Funding Success: Diverse Sources, Diverse Pathways or Undergraduate Research Programs: Building, Enhancing, Sustaining. Nominees are asked to provide contact and demographic information, a statement of expenses, a statement describing financial need, and a statement on expected outcomes from attending the conference. Historically under-represented groups and first-time attendees will be given priority. The review committee will work to ensure awardees represent a diverse subset of the applicants, specifically across discipline/CUR Division and geographic location. Awardees will receive the conference grant as a rebate after their confirmed participation in the conference, and the submission of reimbursement paperwork.

The Access Group Center for Research & Policy Analysis conducts research and provides grants that address some of the most critical issues facing legal education today, including enhancing access to legal education for students from diverse backgrounds; increasing the affordability and financing options for students pursuing legal education; and expanding the value and relevance of legal education. To that end, the center's Legal Education Diversity Pipeline Grant Program awards grants of up to $125,000 to current or proposed programs that provide effective interventions designed to enhance access to legal education for students from diverse backgrounds, specifically historically underrepresented minority students and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Projects should address the issue of enhanced access to legal education at the national level, or encompass more localized efforts that might be efficiently scaled across institutions and regions for greater impact. Applications from programs that display a collaborative approach and strong partnerships with other organizations are encouraged.

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO). PAS invites proposals for conducting exchange programs that will provide Chinese audiences with the opportunity to experience and understand U.S. culture, society, government and art. PAS will generally award multiple grants for up to US$50,000 per grant, but will consider grants for up to US$150,000 for programs that address concerns about regional security and nuclear proliferation, advocate for free, fair, and reciprocal trade and investment policies, or promote a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Purpose of Program: The Institute's purpose in awarding these grants is to provide national leadership in expanding fundamental knowledge and understanding of (1) developmental and school readiness outcomes for infants and toddlers with or at risk for a disability, and (2) education outcomes for all students from early childhood education through postsecondary and adult education. The Institute's research grant programs are designed to provide interested individuals and the general public with reliable and valid information about education practices that support learning and improve academic achievement and access to education opportunities for all students. These interested individuals include parents, educators, students, researchers, and policymakers. In carrying out its grant programs, the Institute provides support for programs of research in areas of demonstrated national need. Eligible topics for projects are broadly defined to include democracy and human rights, security and foreign policy issues, economic and civic development, and support for regional stability in Southeastern Europe. Typically grant awards range from $3,000 to $5,000, though some exceptional projects are funded up to $10,000, and supplement other funding. The deadline for submitting proposals is August 1, 2017. New grantees will be given priority over previous grantees. Funding for NGO grants is decided through a competitive application process, and each proposal is reviewed by an internal embassy committee. Eligibility for this NOFO is limited to: Slovenian not-for-profits/NGOs/social enterprises, Slovenian educational and research institutions and public entities.

The Cummins Grant provides a stipend of $10,000 to support short-term historical research using Special Collections at GW's Jacob Burns Law Library, which is noted for its continental historical legal collections, especially its French Collection. Special Collections also is distinguished by its holdings in Roman and canon law, church-state relations, international law, and its many incunabula. The grant is awarded to one doctoral, LLM, or SJD candidate; postdoctoral researcher; faculty member; or independent scholar. Candidates may come from a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, law, history, religion, philosophy, or bibliography.

The Borchard Foundation Center on Law & Aging underwrites an Academic Research Grant Program to further scholarship about new or improved public policies, laws and/or programs that will enhance the quality of life for the elderly. Each grant recipient is required to publish an article on the subject of their research in a top flight journal.
