This notice solicits applications for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP). The purpose of this one-year funding opportunity is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty by providing funding to accredited schools of nursing to offer loans to students in advanced education nursing degree programs who are committed to become nurse faculty. In exchange for full-time, post-graduation employment as nurse faculty, the program authorizes cancelation of up to 85 percent of any such loan (plus interest thereon).

The American Psychiatric Nursing Foundation (APNF) is pleased to continue the research grants program to enhance scientific contributions advancing the knowledge and practice of psychiatric-mental health nursing. APNF established these awards to seed new investigators who are beginning their research careers and will award up to five (5) individual grants of up to $5,000 per award. As such, priority will be given to investigators who are early in their research trajectories and who have not previously had major intra- or extramural funding.

The purpose of this program is to develop and implement training programs to teach students in health professions (physician assistants, dentists, psychologists, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, counselors, and medical students and residents) the skills necessary to provide evidence-based screening and brief intervention and refer patients who are at risk for a substance use disorder (SUD) to appropriate treatment.

The Substance Abuse andMental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance AbuseTreatment (CSAT), isaccepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2019 Provider's Clinical SupportSystem - Universities (Short Title: PCSS-Universities) grants. The purpose of this program is toexpand/enhance access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services forpersons with an opioid use disorder (OUD) seeking or receiving MAT throughensuring the education and training of students in the medical, physicianassistant and nurse practitioner fields. This program's focus is to ensure students fulfill the trainingrequirements needed to obtain a DATA waiver to prescribe MAT in office-basedsettings. The desired outcomes include: 1) an increase in the number of individuals completing the trainingrequirements for the DATA waiver, 2) an increase the number of individuals witha DATA waiver, and 3) an ultimate increase in those prescribing.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Centers for Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention are accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2018 Opioid State Targeted Response (STR) Technical Assistance (TA) grant. This grant will be provided to a single entity who will serve as the central coordinating point for ensuring the requirements of this funding opportunity are met. Although there is a single grantee, applications including a consortia with other national allied professional associations are encouraged. The purpose of this program is to identify local physicians, other clinicians, and other providers, for example, advance practice nurses, physician assistants, peers and other healthcare professionals with expertise in treatment and in recovery services for opioid use disorders (OUDs). Based on a state, territory, or tribal nation's assessed need, these providers will serve as the primary providers of federally supported TA for the program's successful implementation. The goal of this TA is to ensure the provision of evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery support programs/services across the Opioid STR program.

With support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, researchers from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON), Duke University Margolis Center for Health Policy, University of Michigan Medical School and the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) have partnered to catalyze innovative COVID-19 decision models for rapid uptake and impact. The COVID Decision Modeling Initiative (CDMI) will support the development of decision models to inform the urgent needs of decision makers responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. CDMI has several specific goals to facilitate responsive decision modeling research: Determine key priorities and critical questions where decision modeling can support better decisions and outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic Implement grant making program to fund 6-10 projects with rapid impact potential Leverage Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) repository of models and network of decision modelers addressing COVID-19 To optimize success of decision modeling projects funded for rapid impact, the research team will coordinate efforts from their institutions along with the SMDM COVID-19 Modeling Special Committee to provide connectivity between decision makers and decision modelers and disseminate the combined CDMI results to the public at large. Johns Hopkins University will administer 6-10 agreements to recipients for decision modeling projects with anticipated impact within 4-6 months from start date.

The ISTSS Student Research Grant (SRG) provides two $1,000 grants to ISTSS student members who submit proposals judged to have the greatest potential to contribute to the field of traumatic stress.

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) encourages the submission of applications that propose to conduct research that is of high-priority to NCCAM that requires synergistic collaboration between outstanding scientists and the synthesis of multiple research approaches by multi-disciplinary research teams. The Center of Excellence for Research on CAM (CERC) program is designed to support research in which the funding of three or four synergistic, highly meritorious projects as a group offers significant scientific advantages over support of the same projects as individual research grants. AREA grants create opportunities for scientists and institutions, otherwise unlikely to participate extensively in NIH research programs, to contribute to the Nation's biomedical and behavioral research effort. The purpose of the Kirschstein-NRSA predoctoral fellowship (F31) award is to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training from outstanding faculty sponsors while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. The proposed mentored research training must reflect the applicants dissertation research project and is expected to clearly enhance the individuals potential to develop into a productive, independent research scientist.
