MiamiOH OARS on 10 Feb 14The purpose of the annual award program is to encourage, promote, and fund music therapy research and to explore new and innovative music therapy treatments. To that end, the program supports clinical and health services research projects, including studies of the effectiveness of selected interventions in achieving predictable outcomes; development, refinement, and testing of theories of music therapy; examination of the use of music and music therapy in the areas of prevention and wellness; development and standardization of research instruments; studies that utilize qualitative techniques to develop a better understanding of music therapy processes; studies that examine the application of technology to music therapy practice or research; and other research related to AMTA's mission.
