  •
With the goal of saving more lives, the Myocarditis Foundation is dedicated to providing accurate and up-to-date information to medical professionals, patients, and their families, and to the scientific advancement of both the diagnosis and treatment of myocarditis, a disease marked by inflammation and damage of the heart muscle. Although the exact incidence of myocarditis is not known, it is estimated that several thousand patients per year are diagnosed in the United States. Myocarditis usually attacks otherwise healthy people, and it is believed that 5 percent to 20 percent of all cases of sudden death in young adults are due to the disease.

Myocarditis Foundation Invites Applications for Research Grants | RFPs | PND - 0 views

  •
Funding may act as a catalyst for the early stages of long-term research, from the investigation of an initial hypothesis to the collection of  preliminary data. At the end of the grant period, recipients should be well-prepared to seek long-term funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) or other major granting institution. Applicants must work with a preceptor who demonstrates a proven commitment to myocarditis research and can provide support during the application process. For those who desire help in selecting a preceptor, the Myocarditis Foundation maintains a list of potential candidates.  To be eligible, applicants must conduct all research and activities in the U.S. or Canada, and be within ten years of having earned an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree.
