    MASNA is a non-profit organization composed of marine aquarium societies and individual hobbyists from North America and abroad, totaling several thousand individuals. MASNA operates from a central Board of Directors elected each year by the delegates from the member societies at the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America, (MACNA). This year there are two scholarships available: one scholarship for a college undergraduate student and one scholarship for a college graduate student.

ET's Lighting Alternatives Maximizing Performance and Suitability (LAMPS) program seeks to accelerate the development of replacement lamps that meet or exceed 45 lumens per watt, maintain the needed performance attributes of the incandescent lamps they replace, eliminate or minimize any performance compromises, and create suitable lighting options for incandescent lamps where none exist today.

    The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program was established by presidential initiative in 1978. The goals of the Humphrey Program are to build mutual understanding and strengthen U.S. engagement with professionals from designated countries who are well placed to address their countries' development needs in key areas, including public health, education, sustainable development, and democratic institution-building. Each year the Humphrey Program brings accomplished professionals from approximately 100 countries in North Africa and the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Central Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia to the United States for one academic year, preceded by U.S.-based pre-academic English instruction for participants who need it. The list of eligible U.S. embassies and Fulbright commissions (posts) that may nominate candidates for the Humphrey Program is determined each year by ECA in consultation with the Department of State's six regional bureaus. The academic-year program combines non-degree graduate study, leadership training, and opportunities for substantive professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts. U.S. embassies or binational Fulbright commissions nominate candidates for the Humphrey Program based on the candidates's professional backgrounds, academic qualifications, and leadership potential. The Humphrey Program provides these emerging leaders with an opportunity to understand U.S. society and culture and participate with U.S. colleagues in current approaches to the fields in which they work, providing a basis for on-going cooperation between U.S. citizens and their professional counterparts in other countries.

    Recent advances in communications, computation, and sensing technologies offer unprecedented opportunities for the design of cyber-physical systems with increased responsiveness, interconnectivity and automation. To meet new challenges and societal needs, the Energy, Power, Control andNetworks (EPCN) Program invests in systems and control methods for analysis and design of cyber-physical systems to ensure stability, performance, robustness, and security. Topics of interest include modeling, optimization, learning, and control of networked multi-agent systems, higher-level decision making, and dynamic resource allocation as well as risk management in the presence of uncertainty, sub-system failures and stochastic disturbances. EPCN also invests in adaptive dynamic programing, brain-like networked architectures performing real-time learning, and neuromorphic engineering. EPCN supports innovative proposals dealing with systems research in such areas as energy, transportation, and nanotechnology. EPCN places emphasis on electric power systems, including generation, transmission, storage, and integration of renewables; power electronics and drives; battery management systems; hybrid and electric vehicles; and understanding of the interplay of power systems with associated regulatory and economic structures and with consumer behavior. Also of interest are interdependencies of power and energy systems with other critical infrastructures. Topics of interest also include systems analysis and design for energy scavenging and alternate energy technologies such as solar, wind, and hydrokinetic. The program also supports innovative tools and test beds, as well as curriculum development integrating research and education. In addition to single investigator projects, EPCN encourages cross-disciplinary proposals that benefit from active collaboration of researchers with complementary skills. The Electronics & Magnetic Devices component of EPMD enables discovery and innovation advancing the frontiers of nanoelectronics, spin electronics, molecular and organic electronics, bioelectronics, biomagnetics, non-silicon electronics, and flexible electronics. It also addresses advances in energy-efficient electronics, sensors, low-noise, power electronics, and mixed signal devices. The Optic & Photonic Devicescomponent of EPMD supports research and engineering efforts leading to significant advances in novel optical sources and photodetectors, optical communication devices, photonic integrated circuits, single-photon quantum devices, and nanophotonics. It also addresses novel optical imaging and sensing applications and solar cell photovoltaics.     Scientific research, along with operational support of that research, is the principal activity of the U.S. Antarctic Program in Antarctica. The National Science Foundation's Antarctic Sciences Section (ANT), Division of Polar Programs (PLR), fosters research on globally and regionally important scientific problems.     The purpose of CIG is to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies, while leveraging the Federal investment in environmental enhancement and protection in conjunction with agricultural production.     The Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), announces its interest in receiving grant applications from U.S. universities/institutions of higher education for basic research to investigate some of the outstanding scientific questions in the synthesis of ammonia (NH3) from nitrogen (N2) using processes that do not generate greenhouse gases (such as CO2, NOx, etc.). Of interest is molecular level research that will provide the scientific basis for novel catalysts and mechanisms for nitrogen activation. Ideally, this research should produce fundamental knowledge that will lead to future catalytic processes for ammonia synthesis that are energy efficient, use renewable sources of energy, and do not produce greenhouse gases. This FOA will not consider proposals on process or reactor design, optimization or plant-level intensification. Research will not be supported whose primary goal(s) or challenge(s) are hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution, CO2 capture or conversion, or outside the specific focus on nitrogen activation.     EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Chemistry, Economic and Sustainable Strategies Division oversees the Pollution Prevention (P2) Grant Program to support State and Tribal P2 Programs administer P2 projects that will help businesses identify better environmental strategies and solutions for reducing or eliminating waste at the source. EPA anticipates it will award approximately $7.94 million in federal P2 grant funding ($3.97 million in FY 2016 and $3.97 million in FY 2017) to support two-year grant agreements. Grants will be awarded and managed by EPA's ten Regional P2 Program Offices. P2 grants are dependent on Congressional appropriation and the quality of proposals received.
