The Home Depot Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations using volunteers to address the physical needs of their communities. Through its Community Impact Grants program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 (in the form of Home Depot gift cards that can be used to purchase tools, materials, and services) for projects aimed at repairing, modifying, weatherizing, or otherwise improving low-income and/or transitional housing or community facilities. Priority will be given to programs that use volunteers to serve veterans with home-improvement needs. Only IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies (e.g., police/fire departments) in the United States are eligible to apply. In addition, grants must support work completed by community volunteers in the U.S., and projects must be completed within six months following notification that the grant has been awarded.

The U.S. Embassy Vientiane Public Diplomacy Section announces an open competition for organizations to submit project proposals for funding under the U.S. Embassy's 2018 Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits proposals for projects that further the U.S. Mission's public diplomacy goals of strengthening people-to-people ties between Laos and the United States, expanding educational opportunities for Lao people to better engage with the United States and ASEAN, and building and strengthening local partners through the specific objectives listed below. Proposals for projects must focus on one of the priority areas specified below. Applicants should pay close attention to the Public Diplomacy Section's goals, priority program objectives, and target audiences when developing their proposals. Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) the BLM is seeking to engage a cooperator/partner to assist with developing and managing an outreach, education and volunteer stewardship program that promotes shared conservation stewardship and responsible use of recreational opportunities on the public lands of the National Conservation Areas (NCA), in particular Gunnison Gorge. Expanded access may include the following activities: hiking, biking, OHV, hunting, camping, fishing, and a variety of recreational pursuits for various user groups. In addition, the BLM seeks a partner to encourage responsible use through shared conservation of public lands; instill in the public the importance of and appreciation for natural and cultural resources; promote awareness develop a cadre of local citizen stewards; and enhance the quality of recreational opportunities available for NCA visitors.

The recreation resources managed by the BLM provide a diversity of recreation facilities, visitor centers, and competitive activities that directly benefit the public. Wilderness values are identified and protected. The public receives fair market value for commercial ventures conducted on public lands. Use and entrance fees are used to benefit the public. Recreation planning and visitor use monitoring are conducted. Trails, access, and rivers management including off-highway vehicle, public access, and comprehensive travel and transportation are managed. Visitor services include information, interpretation, stewardship education, health and safety considerations, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. Recreation and community support partnerships develop marketing outreach and educational interpretation utilizing volunteer groups and youth.

The goals of this Agreement are to provide rewarding environmental service opportunities that harness the idealism and energy of a volunteer labor force to help restore America's public lands, create employment and educational opportunities for youth and young adults, all while using best practices to manage natural and cultural resources. This project will engage recipients, partners, communities, and visitors in shared environmental and cultural stewardship.

National Public Lands Day. This agreement will allow NEEF to coordinate activities and efforts of NPS as part of National Public Lands Day. NPS will benefit from work that will be carried out by volunteers throughout America at the various national park sites that NPS nominates into the program. National Public Lands Day has been implemented over the years by NPS, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and other federal agencies that are charged with protecting, restoring and/or managing America's natural resource base. The Woodard & Curran Foundation is a public nonprofit organization dedicated to making grants that empower local and global solutions for a healthier world. Proposed projects must promote a clean and sustainable environment (additional preference will be given when those efforts include a defined educational component), include or rely upon volunteers from the community/schools/colleges, demonstrate significant progress on the project defined in the application, and support the public at large (i.e., not a single individual). 

Keep America Beautiful inspires and educates people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environments. Established in 1953, the organization strives to end littering, improve recycling, and beautify America's communities. KAB believes everyone has a right to live in a clean, green, and beautiful community and shares a responsibility to contribute to that vision. To that end, the organization is accepting applications for its National Awards program, which recognizes the organization's network of community-based affiliates; corporate, nonprofit, and government agency partners; and individual volunteers who are championing environmentally healthy, socially connected, and economically sound communities.

This project represents an opportunity to enter into a cooperative agreement for cultural resources outreach, education and training to further effective cultural resource management on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Project lands. Stewardship of historic and cultural resources can be achieved by educating students, Corps staff, and public and private landowners holding outgrant leases, easements or licenses on USACE lands. A cooperative agreement with an educational institution will provide educational benefits and awareness to college students, interns, volunteers, neighbors, frequent users, the general public and future stewards of the sites, and provide benefits to the community of which these USACE sites are a part. The program would provide job training, education, and early career development for college-level students in archaeology, anthropology, and natural / cultural resource management. Students will learn appropriate survey and monitoring methods, field techniques, archival research, regulations and policy, and the latest technology to document and analyze cultural sites and historic properties.

The CSX Community Investment Program supports nonprofit organizations that serve the communities where the company is located, primarily in the Eastern, Southern, and Upper Midwest areas of the United States. The program provides assistance to nonprofit organizations that address one of the following categories: Safety, with a focus on railway, public, and personal safety; Environment, with a focus on land, water, and air preservation and restoration; Wellness, with a focus on healthy lifestyles and wellness education; and Community, with a focus on community leadership and service. Cash grants ($2,500 to $5,000), sponsorships, volunteer support, and in-kind transportation services are provided.
