Bangladesh's ecosystems and biodiversity have suffered severe degradation due to rapid economic growth, unplanned urbanization, severe pollution, weak environmental governance, major infrastructure projects, a lack of land use policies and territorial management plans, over-exploitation of natural resources. All of these factors, but not limited to, weakens the country's overall resilience, self-reliance and ability to achieve long-term sustainable development.

The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) announces the availability of funding through cost reimbursable agreements for the Scientific Cooperation Research Program (SCRP) for fiscal year (FY) 2020. SCRP supports FAS' Borlaug Fellowship Program and other strategic goals and utilizes the scientific communities' accumulated knowledge and technologies to help aid in developing practical solutions to address issues including agricultural trade and market access, animal and plant health, biotechnology, food safety and security, and sustainable natural resource management. All applications must include foreign collaborations, and projects should not exceed two years. Funding may be allocated to foreign collaborators through sub-awards. Background The Scientific Cooperation Research Program (SCRP) is a Foreign Agricultural Service Office,(FAS) administered program that has been in existence for several decades. Historically, SCRP has funded hundreds of collaborative research programs between U.S. and foreign scientists.This program supports up to 10 collaborative research programs annually, up to $50,000.

For the purpose of conducing project and programs that strengthen and revitalize communities; provide self-esteem, educational enhancements, and employment opportunities through meaningful work experiences for youth and adults; and conserve, develop and enhance natural resources.

National Public Lands Day. This agreement will allow NEEF to coordinate activities and efforts of NPS as part of National Public Lands Day. NPS will benefit from work that will be carried out by volunteers throughout America at the various national park sites that NPS nominates into the program. National Public Lands Day has been implemented over the years by NPS, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and other federal agencies that are charged with protecting, restoring and/or managing America's natural resource base. This cooperative partnership will allow the BLM and the recipient to more efficiently and with greater cost effectiveness, make their individual contributions in science-based monitoring and management of air resources and exchange data through a joint work effort. The recipient is committed to outreach and service to the citizens of Wyoming. The independent nature of recipient will enable honest and transparent engagement with citizens concerned with air quality impacts. Collected data will directly relate to informational needs related to the CD-C Record of Decision or other airshed management issues that the BLM must address. If this program is supported, it will enable the recipient to perform fundamental education and outreach activities. Outreach objectives are a core part of the program and ensure that the recipientâ¿¿s research is open to all and not just for research or regulatory purposes. This is important as it is designed to include the public and their need for independent and relevant information.

This is a notice of intent to award a single source grant agreement to SEEDS Youth Conservation Corps without competition under justification 505DM 2.14.B.4. Competition for the award is not practical as SEEDS has been established for the purpose of employment and development of young people and the conservation and enhancement of natural and cultural resources. SEEDS has a robust Youth Conservation Corps program that is nationally recognized. They use a collaborative approach to connect vulnerable youth with the protection and enhancement of our environmental and cultural heritage. In the last five years, SEEDS has employed almost 300 underserved youth who live in northwest lower Michigan.

The objectives of this research are to use simulated data from three or more national parks to econometrically estimate a production function where fuels and preparedness budgets are used to improve the value of the landscape. The landscape value is improved through fuel treatments aimed at hazardous fuel reductions and ecosystem improvement. It is also improved by preparedness through loss mitigation of fire affected values and by introducing fire in areas that promote ecosystem health. This research will, for the first time, quantify how the two programs (fuels and preparedness) interact to mutually improve the value of the landscape and associated natural and human resources. The second objective is to locate current programs on the econometrically derived value-added surface and to also identify how to manage increasing or declining budgets.

Five years ago, the BLM and Northern Cheyenne Tribe started an Ecoregional Ethnographic Assessment (EEA) project covering two ecoregions in Montana. The BLM would like to expand this project to cover most of the ecoregions in Montana. The BLM is seeking a partner who will have a close working relationship with the Tribal Elders, who hold and share their Traditional Cultural Knowledge for the Tribe. The recipient will use the template developed by the Northern Cheyenne for their EEA project. The BLM is interested in gaining more information from the Crow Tribe to use in management decisions for land use, enhancement and protection. The recipient will provide appropriate information to the BLM for use in planning, restoration, recovery of habitats for plant and animal species and possibly interpretation for the public. Objectives: To initiate a process to identify, document, evaluate, and map places of traditional religious or cultural significance to the Crow Tribe. In addition, the recipient will identify culturally important plant and animal species and their appropriate conservation elements; and assess the potential effects of identified change agents upon identified conservation elements.Public Benefit: This project will provide valuable information and will assist land managers to preserve and protect cultural and natural resources for the benefit of the general public, tribes and BLM. The ethnographic information on plants and the subsequent impacts, combined with scientific information, provide important insight to what is occurring on the landscape. The evidence provides a more holistic glimpse into the past, present and will help in developing a plan for the future.

The project proposes to survey the entire park for probable habitat, existing inhabited locations, condition and age structure of the current population, and to assess habitat condition and vulnerability to degradation. The study, joined with review of current peer-reviewed research, will provide the needed information to draft a management plan that will guide park actions where green salamander habitat integrity may be threatened. The report will also include habitat connectivity strategizing with partnering natural resource agencies and organizations to maintain wildlife corridors and greenways.

The goal of this project is to complete a Level-II soils map of the Valles Caldera National Preserve (VALL). The soils map is an integral part of natural resource planning for forest restoration actions, fuels management, fire applications and watershed management.

The National Fire Plan was implemented in 2001 to assist communities at risk from catastrophic wildland fires by providing assistance in the following areas: Implement hazardous fuels reduction activities, including the training, monitoring or maintenance associated with such hazardous fuels reduction activities, on federal land, or on adjacent nonfederal land for activities that mitigate the threat of catastrophic fire to communities and natural resources in high risk areas; Community programs that develop local capability including; assessment and planning, mitigation activities, Community/homeowner education and action plans Enhance local and small business employment opportunities.

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Office of Subsistence Management (OSM) administers the Partners for Fisheries Monitoring Program (Partners Program). OSM is seeking proposals for the Partners Program that strengthen Alaska Native and rural involvement in Federal subsistence management. The Partners Program is a competitive grant that is directed at providing funding for biologists, social scientists and outreach/educator positions in Alaska Native and rural nonprofit organizations with the intent of increasing the organizations ability to participate in Federal subsistence management. In addition, the program supports a variety of opportunities for local, rural students to connect with subsistence resource monitoring and management through science camps and paid internships.

This funding opportunity will provide support for the grantee to develop and administer a comprehensive national program that funds extramural collaborative science projects to address the system-wide research and management needs of the National Estuarine Research Reserve System, while being responsive to local and regional reserve priorities and those of NOAA. The NERRS collaborative science program is intended to deliver highly credible and relevant information to the coastal management community by incorporating user input into the design and implementation of research projects and ensure that the outcomes support the needs of stakeholders. This program will also increase the capacity of the NERRS management, research, education, stewardship, and coastal training sectors to transfer information and skills to end-users and more effectively support coastal and estuarine resource management.

The BLM Aquatic Habitat Management mission area works cooperatively with a wide range of constituents to manage for the biological, chemical, and physical integrity and function and natural diversity of aquatic ecosystems. The BLM develops strategies that provide protection for instream, riparian and wetland areas as well as maintain or restore stream function and stream access to floodplains while supporting multiple uses on public lands. The program manages and guides fish and aquatic habitat conservation, riparian and wetland conservation, control of aquatic invasive species, aquatic organism passage, and monitoring riparian and instream habitat conditions and water quantity and quality conditions and trends.
