The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: Task 1: Project Planning and Design The planning and design phase of the project will draw on work completed to date with information and analysis of existing site conditions completed by project team members. The Planning and Design process will include the following: Obtain and set up base maps for the project Develop an architectural design of greenhouse compatible with the existing historic structures including structural engineering Conduct an energy analysis including design of integrated system; for example a combination of alternative energy options. Complete final plans, including construction documents. Task 2: Determine Water Supply and Augmentation Needs The Recipient will determine demand and design water-related systems to irrigate greenhouse and outdoor plots. This task includes any water related engineering and legal services required to complete documents to legally use water for the project. Task 3: Determine Design of Outdoor Plots and Environmental Data Collection The Recipient will, with assistance from the Service, collect environmental data regarding existing conditions on the property as well as to assist in design of outdoor plots. Outdoor plots will be designed for optimal irrigation, drainage, plantings, and fencing. Task 4: Project Coordination The Recipient will provide overall project management and administrative oversight of the Upper Arkansas River NRDAR Native Plant Propagation at Hayden Ranch from greenhouse outdoor plot planning through implementing those plans.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting applications from eligible applicants as described in Section III.A to provide training and technical assistance for small public water systems to help such systems achieve and maintain compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and to provide training and technical assistance for small publicly owned wastewater systems, communities served by onsite/decentralized wastewater systems, and private well owners to improve water quality under the Clean Water Act (CWA). Training and technical assistance activities provided to these systems, communities and private well owners should be made available nationally in rural and urban communities and to personnel of tribally- owned and operated systems.

Awarded in 2010, the objective of Cooperative Agreement (CA) N40080-10-LTC-0006 was to design and construct a wetland cell to provide habitat improvement and treatment of storm water from an approximate 162 acre watershed at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren (NSFDL). Calculations for the final design indicate it should achieve 40-50% of the treatment volume for the watershed. Subsequently in 2012, CA N40080-12-LTC-0005 was awarded to provide supplementary survey, design and construction services related to the construction of the first cell, and to design a complementary, second constructed wetland treatment cell. The goal for the second cell design was to fully integrate with and supplement the initial cell to achieve 100% of the recommended treatment volume for the watershed. This Agreement is for the construction of the final design for the second treatment cell to achieve the storm water treatment capacity needed for the watershed. The overall proposed project will provide both habitat enhancements and water quality benefits for a significant amount of untreated storm water.

The BLM Aquatic Habitat Management works cooperatively with a wide range of constituents to develop strategies that provide protection for sensitive riparian and wetland areas as well as maintain or restore stream function and stream access to floodplains while supporting multiple uses on public lands. The program manages and guides fish and aquatic habitat conservation, riparian and wetland conservation, control of aquatic invasive species, aquatic organism passage, and monitoring riparian and instream habitat conditions and water quantity and quality condition and trends. The NM BLM has opportunities to work with partner organizations to accomplish goals of the BLM Aquatic Habitat Management that include, but are not limited to, such things as: 1. Development and/or implementation of watershed management plans. 2. Increased local capacity to protect and enhance water quality, promote water conservation, and sustain the present health of the watershed. 3. Improvements in the resiliency of ecosystems, communities, and economies in the watershed. 4. Improvements in the hydraulic and geomorphic conditions of streams. 5. Removal of invasive vegetation in riparian areas to enhance fish habitat, water quality and the physical characteristics of the stream. 6. Inventory, modernize and/or develop infrastructure such as culverts and diversion structures in order to improve fish passage. 7. Provide a forum for enhanced communication among diverse stakeholder groups along the watershed.

Concerns about water conservation, sanitation, and safe drinking water supplies have intensified. To that end, the Woodard & Curran Foundation in 2019 will award a single $100,000 Impact Grant to be distributed over three consecutive years ($33,000 in 2019, $33,000 in 2020, and $34,000 in 2021) for an innovative project that applies or advances technology to a pressing water (e.g. water, wastewater, stormwater) issue.

The Bureau of Reclamation's Upper Colorado Region is requesting applications for the Water Conservation Field Service Program (WCFSP). Many, if not most, of the Bureau of Reclamation projects in the Upper Colorado Region have been in operation for several decades and are still using practices and procedures that represent state-of-the-art technology at the time the project was constructed. Much can be done to advance these projects to 2000's technology with the accompanying increase in water use efficiency. Likewise, per capita urban water use in various locations within the Upper Colorado Region is among the highest in the nation.

The Confluence Tech Showcase will connect vendors, manufacturers, developers, entrepreneurs, technologists, engineers, and students to our regional utilities to share solutions to the top challenges that have been identified by the utilities. This call for abstracts is addressed to vendors, manufacturers, developers, researchers, technologists, engineers, utilities, entrepreneurs, students and anyone with a solution to the challenges outlined by the Regional Utility Network.   Topics: (Sessions have been categorized into the following tracks: financial innovations, operational efficiencies, business drivers, resiliency opportunities, regulatory concerns, and water sector challenges for utilities within the water cycle (stormwater, drinking water, wastewater).  Abstracts should provide a technology, process, and/or case study of solutions related to these topics, and clearly indicate their value proposition and unique aspects in addressing the problem.  )

The Ohio WRC requests pre-proposals from water professionals early in their career, to support research on the topics of: algal blooms and nutrients, the water energy nexus, and sustainable water use. Algal blooms & nutrients is a broad topic that may encompass any of the following areas: HAB events, nutrient transport related to HABs, treatment technologies, including BMPs, their effectiveness, and social science related to HABs. One important effect of global climate change is the reduction in naturally stored water resources which, for Peru, means melting glaciers and a decrease in the size of highland wetlands (paramos). The loss of these areas decreases water availability for upland and lowland communities and increases the potential for Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs). This APS seeks to stimulate adaptation projects that assist indigenous mountain communities, rural and urban areas, and local and regional governments potentially affected by GLOFs or changes in water availability. General project outcomes will be long-term, sustainable approaches that help reduce the impact of climate change on glaciated and highland wetland ecosystems and on those that depend on these ecosystems' services.

The goal of the Environmental Engineering program is to support transformative research which applies scientific and engineering principles to avoid or minimize solid, liquid, and gaseous discharges, resulting from human activities on land, inland and coastal waters, and air, while promoting resource and energy conservation and recovery.  The program also fosters cutting-edge scientific research for identifying, evaluating, and monitoring the waste assimilative capacity of the natural environment and for removing or reducing contaminants from polluted air, water, and soils.

BLM CA has been working with the Amargosa Conservancy for establishing baselines for ground water hydrographs within the region. BLM has installed monitoring wells on public lands within the Amargosa River ACEC. With both BLM and Amargosa Conservancy having the same end results in working with private landowners to conduct much of the restoration on BLM and private lands in the region. BLM will continue to work on joint restoration planning and coordination to continue the monitoring of ground water and control invasive species and restore habitat within the California portion of the Amargosa River watershed. The benefit of having a recipient monitoring resources in addition to the ground water will assist BLM in the development of the Amargosa Wild and Scenic River AWSR management plan especially in data development. A recipient must be able to access all data for this projects that have transpired for the past several years and BLM needs to stay consistent with the same database lines.

Funds may be used to: Evaluate current landfill conditions to determine threats to water resources in rural areas; provide technical assistance and/or training to enhance operator skills in the maintenance and operation of active landfills in rural areas; provide technical assistance and/or training to help associations reduce the solid waste stream; and provide technical assistance and/or training for operators of landfills in rural areas which are closed or will be closed in the near future with the development/implementation of closure plans, future land use plans, safety and maintenance planning, and closure scheduling within permit requirements. Grant funds may not be used to: Recruit preapplications/applications for any loan and/or grant program including RUS Water and Waste Disposal Loan and/or Grant Program; duplication of current services, replacement or substitution of support previously provided such as those performed by an association's consultant in developing a project; fund political activities; pay for capital assets, the purchase of real estate or vehicles, improve and renovate office space, or repair and maintain privately-owned property; pay for construction or operation and maintenance costs of water and waste facilities; and pay costs incurred prior to the effective date of grants made under this subpart.

OAR's Office of Weather and Air Quality (OWAQ) is soliciting proposals to support research and development that has a strong potential for advancing the use of snowpack (snow water equivalent) and soil moisture remote sensing data to improve the National Water Model (NWM) and contribute directly to the mission of NOAA's National Water Center over the next 1 to 2 years.

1) Track 1 Grants: One-year grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to support projects dedicated to addressing the problem of water scarcity through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) initiatives. This track is limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that meet the foundation's general eligibility requirements and are located in states where Woodard & Curran, Inc. either has an office or operates a treatment facility (California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, or Wyoming). 2) Track 2 Impact Grants: A three-year grant of up to $100,000 will be awarded to an innovative project that applies technology to a water issue related to climate change. This opportunity is open to all U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits that meet the foundation's general eligibility requirements.

The Bureau of Reclamation's Technical Service Center (TSC) will collaborate with the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in the development of a numerical evapotranspiration model (ET Demands) for estimating climate change impacts on agricultural and urban landscape irrigation demands. The results of the climate change impacts on water demands coming out of this collaborative effort will be published and served on a website that will be available to the public. The results will be used in Reclamation's Water SMART Program Basin Studies and West Wide Climate Risk Assessments Program Impact Assessments and available to water managers across the western U.S. to use the results for other planning efforts aimed at identifying strategies to mitigate climate change impacts.

The Sustainable Environments Program seeks to create just and sustainable communities in four ways: Sustainable Transportation Networks & Equitable Development Patterns We support clean, affordable, equitable, high-quality and efficient transportation and land use development that better connects critical services, jobs, schools, housing and other regional destinations. Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment No longer accepting grants. New guidelines are under construction to reflect the new direct of Surdna's work in the energy arena. Urban Water Management We support efforts to capture storm water and slowly release it into the existing network of drains, pipes and sewers, or reuse it where it falls to cultivate natural green spaces. Regional Food Supply We support ways to make it easier to get local, sustainably produced food from our farms to the markets closest to where it's grown, and to better connect food producers and consumers. We seek organizations that: -Promote meaningful collaborations and an integrated approach to infrastructure solutions (i.e., ways in which transportation, energy, water, and food systems can be combined); -Focus on infrastructure decisions that better meet the needs of historically underserved communities including low-income communities and people of color; -Promote long-term solutions and leverage strategic infrastructure investments; -Highlight, especially through communications, the multiple benefits of next generation infrastructure.

BLM OR/WA has an opportunity to work with partner organizations to assist with the following: Increase and enhance access to public lands and waters. Increase and enhance hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities. Increase and enhance recreational shooting opportunities. Improve inventory, assessment and planning on public lands and waters. The Five Star/Urban Waters Restoration Program seeks to develop community capacity to sustain local natural resources for future generations by providing modest financial assistance to diverse local partnerships for wetland, forest, riparian and coastal habitat restoration, stormwater management, outreach and stewardship with a particular focus on water quality, watersheds and the habitats they support
