The Home Depot Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations using volunteers to address the physical needs of their communities. Through its Community Impact Grants program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 (in the form of Home Depot gift cards that can be used to purchase tools, materials, and services) for projects aimed at repairing, modifying, weatherizing, or otherwise improving low-income and/or transitional housing or community facilities. Priority will be given to programs that use volunteers to serve veterans with home-improvement needs. Only IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies (e.g., police/fire departments) in the United States are eligible to apply. In addition, grants must support work completed by community volunteers in the U.S., and projects must be completed within six months following notification that the grant has been awarded.

Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC0024 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), and Conservation Legacy Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC) for the purpose of placement of youth and other qualified persons who volunteer their services through AZCC in exchange for training and educational experience in resource management and conservation programs. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement. Youth interns will work along with park staff and volunteers to rehabilitate disturbed land. Disturbed land is defined as unauthorized trail use (social trails), undocumented immigrant unauthorized use of park lands, invasive plants, roadside accidents, etc. Visitor viewshed will be improved by restoring disturbed areas to natural conditions. Youth will be engaged in and complete project work including learning new skills, receiving academic credit or organizational recognition, and receive a formal program about the NPS mission, the park, and their relevance. Other benefits to the youth include increasing their environmental awareness, especially regarding natural area restoration techniques; participating in a healthy lifestyle; and exposure to conservation professionals and pathways for employment as future stewards and NPS leaders.

With social distancing regulations in place, people are turning to the outdoors more than ever for exercise and rejuvenation. At the same time, the agencies and organizations responsible for maintaining public lands are hampered by reductions in staff, volunteers, and resources, leaving them ill-equipped to keep up with increased human presence in these delicate ecosystems on top of existing maintenance backlogs. In response, NEEF has established the Restoration & Resilience COVID Recovery Fund to help restore these special places by distributing resources and mobilizing volunteers.

The U.S. Embassy Vientiane Public Diplomacy Section announces an open competition for organizations to submit project proposals for funding under the U.S. Embassy's 2018 Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits proposals for projects that further the U.S. Mission's public diplomacy goals of strengthening people-to-people ties between Laos and the United States, expanding educational opportunities for Lao people to better engage with the United States and ASEAN, and building and strengthening local partners through the specific objectives listed below. This program will help manage and protect BLM lands by providing trail maintenance,restoration work, educational opportunities,trail ethics information,expertise for travel management and recreation planning. In addition, the program will help with the recruitment and training of youth, volunteers and BLM staff, and coordinating resource protection projects.

The mission of the CESU Network is to promote, conduct, and provide research, technical assistance, and education services nationwide in support of the missions of participating federal agencies and their partners concerning natural and cultural resource management on federal and-or private lands and waters. Also in order to achieve this mission, each CESU project is conducted cooperatively and with substantial involvement by and benefits to federal and nonfederal partners. Each project must also be consistent with the mission of the individual CESU through which it is administered. This announcement is part of the master agreement L13AC00082 These projects involve assisting the BLM with long term adaptive management and ongoing planning on Fort Ord National Monument-FONM by continuing the university student and volunteer programs for young people to learn about but not limited to: restoration ecology, studying grassland and woodland ecosystems, watersheds, evaluating existing management actions, providing management guidelines for future actions, inventory, monitoring, evaluation, and evaluating field plots for determining new techniques to improve results of BLMs habitat restoration on FONM.

A partnership with a cooperator as outlined in this funding opportunity announcement will assure that these sites are frequently monitored by volunteers, site stewards, and/or personnel from the cooperator. In addition, there are several mining structures in need of historic preservation as well as interpretive activities over the lifetime of the agreement. This funding opportunity addresses the Secretary of Interiorâ¿¿s priorities of creating a conservation stewardship legacy second only to Teddy Roosevelt as well as ensuring greater public access to public lands. This funding opportunity promotes access over restrictions that damage to cultural resources may present.

This project will perform major restoration and preservation repairs on the historic farm complex (5 structures) at Humpback Rocks in the vicinity of milepost 6 in BLRI. Work will be accomplished by park historic preservationists with assistance from local NPS staff, a youth crew from American Conservation Experience (ACE) â¿¿ one crew leader and four team members for eight weeks â¿¿ and/or volunteers (if available). Initial classroom and hands-on training in the proper methods and techniques of historic preservation and repair will be provided by the NPS Historic Preservation Training Center from Harpers Ferry, WV during the first two weeks of the project

To that end, the organization is accepting applications for its National Awards program, which recognizes the organization's network of community-based affiliates; corporate, nonprofit, and government agency partners; and individual volunteers who are championing environmentally healthy, socially connected, and economically sound communities.

This project represents an opportunity to enter into a cooperative agreement for cultural resources outreach, education and training to further effective cultural resource management on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Project lands. Stewardship of historic and cultural resources can be achieved by educating students, Corps staff, and public and private landowners holding outgrant leases, easements or licenses on USACE lands. A cooperative agreement with an educational institution will provide educational benefits and awareness to college students, interns, volunteers, neighbors, frequent users, the general public and future stewards of the sites, and provide benefits to the community of which these USACE sites are a part. The program would provide job training, education, and early career development for college-level students in archaeology, anthropology, and natural / cultural resource management. Students will learn appropriate survey and monitoring methods, field techniques, archival research, regulations and policy, and the latest technology to document and analyze cultural sites and historic properties.
