The United States Government, represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Peru, is seeking information, opinions, and recommendations on approaches for the possible implementation of an activity to promote frameworks and ideas around circular economy systems in the environment sector that promote green growth in Peru.

We invite entrepreneurs, researchers, and advocates to submit their business, research, or policy proposals for funding consideration. Submissions will be reviewed by experts who will provide issuespecific insights and vet applications for boldness, viability, and impact. Best-in-class candidates will be selected to receive equity and debt financing for their businesses. A cash prize will be awarded to Soil GroundBreakers - rising stars working in research, social enterprise, or advocacy. GroundBreaker nominations will be accepted from FoodShot's diverse community of partners and aligned organizations, including a range of food system innovators, investors, and thought leaders.

The NOAA Marine Debris Program (MDP), authorized in the Marine Debris Act (33 U.S.C. 1951-1958), provides funding to support eligible organizations to conduct research directly related to marine debris through field, laboratory, and modeling experiments. The MDP invites applications for research funding in any of three areas of focus: research that explores the ecological risk associated with marine debris and determines debris exposure levels; research that examines the fate and transport of marine debris; and/or research that quantifies habitat impacts resulting from marine debris and the gains in ecosystem services that result when debris is removed. Projects may address one or more of these research priorities and should be original, hypothesis-driven projects that have not previously been addressed to scientific standards. Successful proposals through this solicitation will be funded through cooperative agreements. Funding of up to $1,500,000 is expected to be available for Marine Debris Research grants in Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19). Typical awards will range from $150,000 - $250,000. Funding for this grant competition comes through the NOAA Marine Debris Program as appropriations to the Office of Response and Restoration, National Ocean Service.

The fund will invest up to $29 million in projects designed to restore or expand natural features such as coastal marshes and wetlands, dune and beach systems, oyster and coral reefs, mangroves, coastal forests and rivers, and barrier islands that help minimize the impacts of storms, rising sea levels, and other extreme events. Building on the significant coordination and planning that has already been done in many of the nation's coastal communities and recognizing the need for action, the partnership will focus investments on projects that have been prioritized within existing community or regional resilience plans, with a focus on preliminary project design and site assessment; final project design and permitting; and project implementation and monitoring.

Applicants should propose tools that support citizen science work, particularly data collection or data analysis, in ways that create learning experience for citizen scientists, including students. Priority will be given to research, education, and technology projects that create and execute new digital applications, transform existing applications and products, or use current technologies to do one or more of the following: teach students and other citizen scientists about the planet using experiential, crowdsourced technology; encourage individuals who engage with these technologies and projects to build the attitudes, skills, and knowledge necessary to become stewards of the planet and contribute to solving real-world issues; and generate data and/or develop open-source technologies that contribute to scientific inquiry and advance our understanding of the planet.

Every year, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Fisheries Innovation Fund releases two requests for proposals (RFPs) aimed at creating more sustainable fisheries in the United States: Fisheries Innovation Fund - NFWF launched the Fisheries Innovation Fund in 2010 to foster innovation in fisheries and seafood production and help sustain livelihoods, working waterfronts, and sustainable access to fisheries while rebuilding fish stocks. The fund's priorities include bycatch reduction, recreational fisheries and offshore aquaculture, including activities to build community capacity and encourage sustainable use practices. In past years, most projects have originated locally to address needs, challenges, and opportunities at the community level. 

The Fund for Wild Nature's board is rooted in biocentrism and believes that native species and healthy ecosystems are too essential to be sacrificed. Wild areas are increasingly rare and under relentless pressure from a variety of threats. Yet these wild areas constitute the main reservoirs of biodiversity, and provide key scientific reference points for our understanding of the planet's wondrous cycles of birth, life, death, and decay. Wild nature, and the native flora and fauna within, also provide priceless ecosystem services, including clean air, water, pollination, and climate regulation, which are vital to life on Earth. Our goal is to fund groups that recognize the inherent value of wild places and work to preserve and protect natural systems. We support efforts that challenge destructive policies and actions: bold groups that often face tough odds and politically and economically powerful opponents. Hope for the future depends upon active, informed, and passionate people who defend wild nature. Our strength is in the groups we fund and the donors that give us the opportunity to invest in wild nature.

The development and qualification of new structural materials and fabrication of commercial scale components made from new structural materials are key steps in the development of next generation fossil energy (FE) power generation technologies, improving the efficiency of existing FE power plants by increasing working fluid (e.g. steam or supercritical CO2) steam temperature, and to enable existing FE power plants to safely and effectively operate in cycling modes for well beyond their original 30-year design life. Advanced ultra-supercritical (AUSC) pulverized coal fired power plants and transformational supercritical CO2 power cycles will operate at temperatures and pressures up to 760 °Celsius and 5,000 psia (pounds per square inch absolute), and will require large components, up to 10 tons (such as boiler and heat exchanger tubing; valves, large diameter, thick wall steam and sCO2 pipe and pipe fittings, and steam and sCO2 turbine parts) to be fabricated from gamma prime strengthened nickel superalloys, such as Haynes 282 and Inconel 740. Gamma prime strengthened nickel superalloys this large have seldom been needed for other industries, and thus, there is not an established manufacturing supply chain for such components.

The Pacific Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Region of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is offering a cooperative agreement for the study BOEM-MARINe (Multi-Agency Rocky Intertidal Network) to provide continued long-term monitoring of rocky intertidal habitats and species adjacent to OCS oil and gas operations in the Pacific Region. The purpose of this study is to provide the basis for evaluating cumulative impacts to the shoreline from OCS activities, especially accidental oil spills, and will be used to provide a base-line to assess dampening of waves from potential offshore wave facilities. Detecting impacts to a resource requires monitoring and the rocky intertidal areas established by the MARINe represent over 20 years of continuous monitoring adjacent to OCS facilities off southern California. This announcement is specifically to announce intent to undertake the project: BOEM-MARINe, that is open to the University of California, Santa Cruz, via the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The award will be a cooperative agreement. This involves substantial involvement by BOEM scientists in various aspects of study development and/or study conduct. The award is premised on receipt of an acceptable proposal. This is not an open solicitation for proposals.

The 2019 Buildings Energy Efficiency Frontiers and Innovation Technologies Funding Opportunity Announcement will invest up to 47 million dollars, to allow all interested parties (universities, corporations, non-profits, national labs) to research and develop innovative technologies that will improve energy productivity, improve flexibility, security and resiliency, as well as lower energy costs. With this Funding Opportunity Announcement, Building Technologies Office intends to fund high-impact, early-stage research in the following three topic areas: Topic Area 1 - Flexible Building Technologies; Topic Area 2 - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technologies; and Topic Area 3 - Solid-State Lighting Technologies.

The American Wind Wildlife Institute is dedicated to supporting research that improves the understanding of wind-wildlife interactions and those that develop and produce proven science-based solutions that will result in or support approaches aimed at avoiding, minimizing, or offsetting these impacts. In support of this mission, the institute is currently accepting proposals for research projects of high scientific caliber with the potential to improve, in a timely manner, risk and impact assessment, siting and operational decisions, and compensatory mitigation efforts for species of concern as defined in the USFWS Land-Based Wind Energy Guidelines (e.g., bats, eagles, and grouse). Research projects of interest include those focused on enhancing the ability to predict and avoid risk to species; those focused on improving methods for estimating impacts on species of concern and protocols for collecting and analyzing data that predicts risk and estimates impacts on species of concern; those focused on increasing our ability to minimize those impacts, including more effective approaches to smart curtailment and deterrenc, and scientifically-based buffers for sensitive species; and those focused on developing verifiable compensatory mitigation options.

One of the BLM's highest priorities is to promote ecosystem health and one of the greatest obstacles to achieving this goal is the rapid expansion of weeds across public lands. These invasive plants can dominate and often cause permanent damage to natural plant communities. If not eradicated or controlled, noxious weeds will continue to jeopardize the health of the public lands and to constrain the myriad activities that occur on public lands. BLM Invasive and Noxious Plant Management Programs work to prevent, detect, inventory, control and monitor weed populations on public lands.

The National Park Service's (NPS) FY 2017 African American Civil Rights Grant Program (AACR) will document, interpret, and preserve the sites related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights as citizens in the 20th Century. The NPS 2008 report, "Civil Rights in America, A Framework for Identifying Significant Sites," will serve as the reference document in determining the appropriateness of proposed projects and properties. AACR Grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), administered by the NPS. Grants will fund a broad range of planning and research projects for historic sites including: survey, inventory, documentation, interpretation, and education. The Chesapeake Bay Trust, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Maryland Department of the Environment, is accepting proposals for its Watershed Assistance - Two-Year Milestone Support grant program, the purpose of which is to promote local engagement inn the state's Watershed Implementation Plan. Through grants of up to $75,000, the program supports design assistance, watershed planning, and programmatic development associated with protection and restoration programs and projects that lead to improved water quality in the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the Maryland portion of the Youghiogheny watershed, and the Maryland Coastal Bays. Projects can include but are not limited to using designs, plans, or project proposals to craft future proposals to the Maryland Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund; developing deliverables that assist implementation of Watershed Implementation Plan Phase II strategies; or crafting proposals for implementation funding through programs at the Chesapeake Bay Trust or other sources of support. Local government agencies and nonprofit organizations working on water-quality projects are encouraged to apply.

The Home Depot Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations using volunteers to address the physical needs of their communities. Through its Community Impact Grants program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 (in the form of Home Depot gift cards that can be used to purchase tools, materials, and services) for projects aimed at repairing, modifying, weatherizing, or otherwise improving low-income and/or transitional housing or community facilities. Priority will be given to programs that use volunteers to serve veterans with home-improvement needs. Only IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies (e.g., police/fire departments) in the United States are eligible to apply. In addition, grants must support work completed by community volunteers in the U.S., and projects must be completed within six months following notification that the grant has been awarded.

The Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act ("Brownfields Law", P.L. 107-118) requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to publish guidance for grants to assess and clean up brownfield sites. EPA's Brownfields Program provides funds to empower states, communities, tribes, and nonprofits to prevent, inventory, assess, clean up, and reuse brownfield sites. Under these guidelines, EPA is seeking proposals for Revolving Loan Fund Grants only.
