    The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to provide competitive grant funds for regional partnership grants (RPGs) to improve the well-being of children affected by substance abuse. These targeted grants will be awarded to regional partnerships that provide through interagency collaboration and integration of programs and services, activities and services that are designed to increase the well-being of, improve permanency outcomes for, and enhance the safety of children who are in out-of-home placements or are at risk of entering out-of-home placements as a result of a parent's or caretaker's substance abuse. Applicants are expected to have a collaborative structure in place that is capable of building a region's capacity to meet a broad range of needs for families involved with both substance abuse treatment and the child welfare system. Per the legislative requirements, RPGs are required to select and report on performance indicators and evaluation measures to increase the knowledge that can be gained from the program. Partnerships will: Use specific, well-defined, and evidence-based programs that are also trauma-informed and targeted to the identified population; Conduct an evaluation that is sufficiently rigorous to contribute to the evidence base on service delivery, outcomes and costs associated with the project's chosen interventions; and Participate in the national cross-site evaluation, which includes an implementation and partnership study, an outcomes study, and an impact study.

    The Education Innovation and Research (EIR) program, established under section 4611 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA), provides funding to create, develop, implement, replicate, or take to scale entrepreneurial, evidence-based, field-initiated innovations to improve student achievement and attainment for high-need students; and rigorously evaluate such innovations. The EIR program is designed to generate and validate solutions to persistent educational challenges and to support the expansion of those solutions to serve substantially larger numbers of students. The central design element of the EIR program is its multi-tier structure that links the amount of funding that an applicant may receive to the quality of the evidence supporting the efficacy of the proposed project, with the expectation that projects that build this evidence will advance through EIR's grant tiers: ``Early-phase,'' ``Mid-phase,'' and ``Expansion.'' Applicants proposing innovative practices that are supported by limited evidence can receive relatively small grants to support the development, implementation, and initial evaluation of the practices; applicants proposing practices supported by evidence from rigorous evaluations, such as an experimental study (as defined in this notice), can receive larger grant awards to support expansion across the country.

    The purpose of this APS is to solicit innovative concept papers from international and local organizations that can propose the best approach for blind and deaf inclusive education in Mali. This will be done through a two steps application process consisting of: (a) the submission of an initial concept paper and then, (b) the submission of a full application, as detailed in Section II. This APS will be open for a period of one year, with up to three (03) rounds, depending on funds availability. Under this APS, USAID intends to award multiple grants and cooperative agreements ranging from $20,000 to $300,000 for a maximum period of performance of two years each. At time of releasing this APS, the total amount available for funding the grants/cooperative agreements is $882,000 over a period of two years, of which $400,000 is available to cover the year 1. There will be a pre-application meeting with all interested local organizations on the date specified above to review the application requirements. All interested organizations are required to send an email at least seven working days before the meeting with the name of the organization and names of the attendees and their contact information. The solicitation will be amended to provide answers to all questions raised (in writing and at the meeting) for the general consideration of all interested parties.

    The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is pleased to offer a limited number of conference grants. These grants will be used to subsidize the cost of attendance for individuals to attend either CUR Dialogues 2015: Climbing the Ladder to Funding Success: Diverse Sources, Diverse Pathways or Undergraduate Research Programs: Building, Enhancing, Sustaining. Nominees are asked to provide contact and demographic information, a statement of expenses, a statement describing financial need, and a statement on expected outcomes from attending the conference. Historically under-represented groups and first-time attendees will be given priority. The review committee will work to ensure awardees represent a diverse subset of the applicants, specifically across discipline/CUR Division and geographic location. Awardees will receive the conference grant as a rebate after their confirmed participation in the conference, and the submission of reimbursement paperwork.

    The Office of Community Services (OCS) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announces that competing applications will be accepted for grants to administer projects for the national Assets for Independence (AFI) demonstration of Individual Development Accounts (IDAs). The projects will provide IDAs and related services to low-income individuals. A primary feature of each AFI project is that participants save earned income in an IDA to purchase a home, capitalize or expand a business, or fund postsecondary education or training. As a condition of their federal AFI grant, grantees must provide non-federal funds to support their AFI project in an amount at least equal to the Federal AFI grant amount. The 10/27/2014 application due date for FY 2015 funding will be the last application due date for this FOA. After the 10/27/2014 due date, this FOA will be cancelled.     YSA is now accepting applications for the 2019 MLK Day of Service Grants to activate youth volunteers on MLK Day of Service weekend. Funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, these grants offer youth development organizations, community-based organizations, and schools/school districts grant funding and capacity-building training to effectively recruit and engage young people in meaningful service activities.     The Eos Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by investing in children's futures. It seeks an equitable and just society where the basic human needs of all individuals are met, and where children grow up well-nourished and healthy and have opportunities for high-quality education and the tools to achieve economic self-sufficiency. To that end, the foundation is accepting applications from Massachusetts schools/districts and charter public schools for its After the Bell (ATB), Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) program, which aims to combat childhood hunger and improve student learning.  ATB BIC is proven to increase access in and participation in school breakfast. Benefits of the program include lower absentee and tardy rates, fewer morning nurses visits and behavioral problems, and higher academic achievement. The majority of Massachusetts schools operating ATB BIC maintain 80 percent or more participation rates, drawing down USDA reimbursements that sustain the program beyond grants from private funders like Eos.  Through the program, Eos provides one-time grants of up to $10,000 to eligible Massachusetts schools/districts and charter public schools interested in making breakfast part of their school day by launching or expanding ATB BIC programming. Grant amounts are based on school enrollment: 1) $5,000 for schools with up to 300 students; 2) $7,500 for schools with between 301 and 600 students; and $10,000 for schools with more than 601 students.     The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2018 Strategic Prevention Framework - Partnerships for Success grants. The purpose of this grant program is to address one of the nation's top substance abuse prevention priorities; underage drinking among persons aged 9 to 20. At their discretion, states/tribes may also use grant funds to target up to two additional, data-driven substance abuse prevention priorities, such as the use of marijuana, cocaine, or methamphetamine, etc. by individuals ages 9 and above. SPF-PFS is designed to ensure that prevention strategies and messages reach the populations most impacted by substance abuse. The program extends current established cross-agency and community-level partnerships by connecting substance abuse prevention programming to departments of social services and their community service providers. This includes working with populations disproportionately impacted by the consequences of substance use; i.e., children entering the foster care system, transitional youth, and individuals that support persons with substance abuse issues (women, families, parents, caregivers, and young adults).
