    This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is associated with the Beau Biden Cancer MoonshotSM Initiative that is intended to accelerate cancer research. Specifically, this FOA targets the following area designated as scientific priority by the Blue Ribbon Panel (BRP): Recommendation B. Create a translational science network devoted exclusively to immunotherapy approaches to treat and prevent adult cancers. The goal of the network is to foster collaborative team science approaches to accelerate the discover of new immune targets and evaluate novel immune-based therapies and combination approaches that eliminate established cancers in adults or to prevent cancers before they occur. The purpose of this FOA is to establish a Data Management and Resource-sharing Center to provide overall support for the Immuno-Oncology Translational Network (IOTN) and to integrate the research activities of the IOTN with other Cancer Moonshot Initiative programs.

MRA General RFP - Melanoma Research Alliance - 0 views

    The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) is pleased to announce the Second Release of its Request for Proposals (RFP) for pre-clinical, translational, and early clinical research with the potential to produce unusually high impact, near-term advancements in melanoma prevention, detection, diagnosis, staging, and treatment.  The 2020 - 2021 award cycle, is anticipated to support at least $7.6 million in new funding. Proposals will be accepted for Established Investigator, Academic-Industry Partnership, Young Investigator, and Pilot Awards.  This Second Release includes two new Special Opportunity awards focused on Melanoma Brain Metastasis, in partnership with the Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research. Other Special Opportunities include: Pediatric Melanoma Young Investigator Award with St. Baldrick's Foundation, UK or Israel-Based Young Investigator Award with Rosetrees Trust, Radiation Oncology Young Investigator Award with ASTRO (U.S. applicants only), and Immunotherapy Young Investigator Awards supported by Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS).

    To that end, the two organizations have issued a Request for Applications for projects that test feasibility and generate preliminary data. MRA and ACS have each committed $1 million for the awards. The combined $2 million will be used to fund Multidisciplinary Team Awards and Pilot Awards. 1) Multidisciplinary Team Awards: At least one grant of up to $1 million will be awarded in this category are designed to foster interdisciplinary collaborative research to promote transformational advances with the potential for rapid clinical benefit. Letters of Intent must be received no later than August. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit full applications by October 31, 2017. 2) Pilot Awards: Up to five grants of up to $200,000 each will be awarded over two years to help seed the ground in this relatively young area of checkpoint irAE research. Applications must be received no later than October 16, 2017.
