This Notice is to inform the community that NIH has revised its approach to resuming operations after the government shutdown.

This Notice supersedes NOT-OD-15-024 about the NIH and AHRQ requirement for use of a new biosketch format and provides some latitude in the transition for those who have already been compiling biosketches for their large grant applications with deadlines in early in 2015. NIH and AHRQ encourages applicants to use the newly published biosketch format for all grant and cooperative agreement applications submitted for due dates on or after January 25, 2015, and will require use of the new format for applications submitted for due dates on or after May 25, 2015. Applicants may submit using the new biosketch format for due dates before January 25, 2015, if they wish.

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants of the special interest of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in encouraging the submission of applications to either PAR-20-089 Biomedical Data Repository ( U24-Clinical Trial Not Allowed) or PAR-20-097 Biomedical Knowledgebase ( U24-Clinical Trial Not Allowed) FOAs, focused on the establishment of new, or continued development of established cancer data resources that use state-of-the-art and cost-effective technologies and approaches, and that are of high value to the broad cancer research community. This NOSI applies to applications for both data repositories and knowledgebases.

The purpose of this Notice is to inform new NIH applicants, their mentors, and grant administrators at their institution about two upcoming webinars the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) is hosting in November 2015.  These webinars are designed to give participants useful insights into our application submission and peer review processes.  CSR is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific and technical merit.

The National Cancer Institute supports the development of cancer-relevant technologies that would be suitable for global health environments with limited resources. NCI is announcing its intent to reissue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) soliciting applications for the development of new technologies/devices and/or adaptation of existing technologies/devices for cancer detection/diagnosis and treatment to be tested and ultimately implemented in low- and low-middle-income countries (LMICs), as listed by World Bank

In September, Miami received notice from the government that our new F&A rates are: 44.5% for On Campus Organized Research 44.0% On Campus Sponsored Instruction 39.0% On Campus Other Sponsored Activities 26.0% Off Campus All Programs These rates are effective beginning September 1, 2014. Awards received beginning in September and all proposal submissions going forward will be required to use the new rates.

The following programs have due dates that fall between October 1 - 25, 2013, and these dates are being revised due to the Federal  government shutdown. These revised dates apply whether the proposal is being submitted via the NSF FastLane System or  Grants.gov. Due to compressed proposal deadlines resulting from the shutdown, proposers are advised that they may experience a  delay when contacting IT Help Central with technical support questions. Mark your calendar for the 2015 NIH Regional Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration in Baltimore, Maryland - May 6-8, 2015. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks input on the restructuring of the NIH grant application instructions. We invite comments from any interested parties. We encourage feedback from PD/PIs, Administrative Offices, Offices of Sponsored Programs, Systems Administrators, and any other parties that rely on our application submission information.

The Surveillance Research Program (SRP) within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) and the Prevention, Control and Population Sciences Branch (PCPSB) within the Office of Acquisitions (OA), National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, intends to solicit the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program.
