This Request for Information (RFI) is a preliminary call for expressions of interest to partner with the USAID/Kyrgyz Republic Mission in its work to support the Kyrgyz Republic to improve long-term detection, treatment, and prevention of Tuberculosis (TB), especially drug resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB). The responses from this RFI will aid USAID in the follow-on design of its Defeat TB Program. Interested parties should provide a short (3-7 pages) expression of interest, addressing the issues and questions discussed below, and offering initial ideas (not in detail) of 1) how they would propose expanding TB detection, treatment, and prevention successes in the Kyrgyz Republic and support implementation of the WHO End TB Strategy; and 2) help achieve the strategic goals of the USG Global TB Strategy (2014-2019), and the National Action Plan for Combating MDR-TB (NAP).

This Request for Information (RFI) is to inform interested parties of another tuberculosis (TB) activity that is being designed to help the Philippines reduce and eliminate TB. The intent is to also seek statements from capable organizations (i.e., nongovernmental organizations, universities, consortium, for-profit) that are implementing or have implemented TB projects/programs and may be interested to partner with USAID in achieving the goals of this future TB activity. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking input from industry, academia, and other biofuels stakeholders regarding supply systems and services for the cultivation, logistics, and preprocessing of algal feedstocks.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks input on the restructuring of the NIH grant application instructions. We invite comments from any interested parties. We encourage feedback from PD/PIs, Administrative Offices, Offices of Sponsored Programs, Systems Administrators, and any other parties that rely on our application submission information.

We are looking for ideas that can lead to new multi-grant research portfolios on human flourishing. We are particularly interested in ideas for interdisciplinary scientific research towards discoveries that can promote physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being. We welcome ideas that bridge gaps between empirical science and the humanities. Such ideas may include (but are not limited to):  Experimental testing of philosophically grounded models of human flourishing; Research on biological complexity in humans, including genetics, epigenetics, and microbiome research; Investigation of key psychological, neuroscientific, or human developmental concepts, such as (but not limited to) altruism, creativity, imagination, narrative, and meta-cognition; Research on cognitive, affective, or social capacities of individuals or groups; Studies of human biological or cultural evolution.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recognizes the increasing demands placed on biomedical researchers to share data they generate through federally-funded research projects. As part of its Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Initiative, NIH wishes to help the broader scientific community update knowledge and skills in the important areas of the science, storage, management and sharing of biomedical big data. NIH wants to identify the array of timely, high quality courses and online learning materials already available on data science and data management topics for biomedical big data.
